• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trans-continental (and back) Spyder adventure

I have enjoyed monitoring this site now for several years and have taken advantage of many of the discussion threads. I have never posted since I really did not have much to add (except for some great routes through New England, East Coast, Cabot Trail, PEI, Newfoundland, Gaspe etc over the last 3 years - others have described them in great detail). I and my wife are heading off on a 12 month trans-continental Spyder ride (2013 RT with recommended upgrades as well as trailer full of camping gear) on Saturday. We plan to depart Ontario, Canada on Saturday Sept 19, head through NY Lake District, Pennsylvania backroads to Pittsburgh to take in the Steelers home opener on Sunday. Then off to ride the entire Blue Ridge Parkway followed by exploring the Smokey Mountains (Tail of the Dragon) finally ending up in Nashville where we will take in some shows, leave the Spyder in storage unit and return home to work. We then plan to work our way across US (taking in the Natchez Trail) to Dallas in November (store in a friends garage), on to Phoenix (another garage) in February, San Francisco in April (storage unit) and then up Highway 1 to Vancouver in June, finally returning home across Canada in September 2016. That way we do the entire trip using up my 2015-16 holidays and all my Aeroplan points but keep my job (and my marriage) intact. Any advice, particularly on how to find Spyder dealers in case of breakdowns and regular maintenance, would be appreciated. Would anyone be interested in progress reports as we make our way across North America and back? JCN

Sounds like an awesome adventure

Please keep us posted on your progress and we would love to see some pics of what you find along the way.

Be sure to download the My Spyder Codes app for your smart phone. It has all of the dealer information along with error codes (which we hope you won't need)

Some of us are planning a ride across Canada in June of 2017 for the 10th Anniversary Can-Am Owner's Event and we plan to take in PEI, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and we would appreciate any insight you can give us on traveling there.

Have an awesome trip(s) and be sure to post pictures for us.
