• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Trailer wiring again!

I have a 2012 RT Ltd and live in Europe.
My dealer has just supplied me a trailer hitch and here is my question. The wiring loom supplied has two rectangular block connectors that plug into the Spyder and there is a nine pin Deutsch connector that seems to attach to the hitch to allow the trailer plug to connect up.
Can I buy a plug connector that wires to the trailer and then plugs into the socket on the hitch.
I am not sure if Deutsch products are easily available here in Europe or even how to describe it. It says on the hitch plug 16/9 can anyone help me because it seems my problem is solved if I can buy a plug but then again reading all the posts on trailer wiring it probably is not.
thank you

Forgot to mention here in Europe the standard trailer plug is round seven pin with male on the trailer

Your best bet is probably to purchase a BRP RT-622 Trailer Tongue Harness P/N 710002029, and make your own adapter to your 7-pole connector. With my first trailer, a Jason Ion , I simply cut the rectangle plug off and used a simple automotive light tester to confirm the wire outputs. I then purchased and off the self trailer plug and wired in.

The spyder out puts combined brake and turn signals, you get running/marker lights, left brake/turn and right brake turn. There is no reverse out put any more a limited number 2010 modules used to have reverse sent but not any more.

You can make an adapter out of either the 2010 RT-622 Trailer Tongue Harness, or the later RT-622 Pole Harness, or wire those directly to your trailer. Your trailer module will only provide 4-wire output, however, if it is the same as current US trailer modules. You may have to rewire the trailer to match. The Deutsch connector would do the same as the RT-622 harness, but you would have to buy the connector, pins, blank hole plugs, rear boot, and special crimping tool.
