There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. trailer wireing question

Sorry I didn't do a search, but I think I would have seen it had it been posted.
Is there a way to wire the RT-622 with a 4 pole flat plug and have ALL of the lights work. The trun signals and the brake lights are separate.
I want to be able to pull a RT-622 behind a car.
Thanks C-YA RL

Yes

Yes there is. BRP now makes a wiring harness adapter for that very purpose.
You can search the 2011 BRP catalogue & I believe it's listed there. If not, just call your Dealer Parts Department  good luck.

If you have an auto zone near you, they carry exactly what you need. It is called a taillight converter. Part # 74209 and costs $14.99.That is what I paid for mine. I built a trailer and the same thing happened to me. The harness for the pull vehicle has 5 wires going into four. This way the brake lights and turn signal will work together. When I first wired mine the brake lights did not work because the turn signals and brake lights are separate. The fifth wire goes to your brake light.

Woodchuck,
When I did research on the product it stated that it was NOT compatable with LEDs. Have you hade any experience with using this unit with LEDs?
It seems that the tow vechile has the 4 wire setup---but the trailer requires the 5 wire(separate Stop/turn lights). Do you know if that unit designed to work that way?
Thanks Again C-YA RL

I have not found a 2-3 wire converter, as they are called (actually 4-wire to 5-wire), that will work with LED lights, or even with some tow vehicles with electronic components, like my Ford F-150. The BRP trailer seems to be designed for additional use with a four-wire tow vehicle, however. They kept the right and left brake light functions separate, so it is easy to make a wiring adapter, wire in a 4-wire connector, or cut off the existing plug and use a 4-wire connector exclusively. If you are using the trailer with both the 4-wire automobile and the Spyder RT, the BRP adapter is the easiest (not cheapest) answer. You could wire in a 4-wire pigtail as an alternative, however. If you use the 4-wire pigtail, you will not have the amber turn signals, just a blinking red on either side. I am not sure if the BRP adapter keeps the amber turn function (via a converter) or not.

I really could not tell you if it works with lED lights. I have a 2009 Chevrolet colorado and that is what I had to do. The fifth wire is a red wire and that is what you splice into your brake lights. The converter is about the size of a pack of cigarettes but half the thickness. Five wires to the tow vehicle and four coming out to the trailer. It works for me.
