• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer Towing

As a 1800 Goldwing owner and pulling a Aspen Tent Trailer for the last 4 years, I am wondering do any of you pull a tent trailer with your Spyders? I am thinking the new 1330 engine should have enough power, not sure about the transmission. Any thoughts?

The Spyder can pull a 400 lb total gross weight trailer with a 40 lb tongue weight max. Those are the official numbers from BRP. As long as you don't exceed those by much you are good to go. So go find out how much your trailer weighs loaded with all your stuff.

Trailer - Yes!

We towed our little Harbor Freight tag-along behind our 2011 RT. It was lightly loaded with our luggage and it towed with no problems at all.

We now have a 2014 RT Limited and will pull either the cargo trailer or our new to us Combi-Camp camping trailer - if it ever thaws out around here...

Looks like..!!

you should be fine as long as you meet the specs billybovine posted. Should be easy enough to get your traiker specs from manufacturer if you don't have them...happy camping..:yes:

Not that I encourage it, but I have seen a couple of folks pull trailers that exceed BRP specs, still without trouble. I certainly have pulled my Nomad loaded to the brim and seldom even felt it was there. I especially notice how much easier it pulls with my 1330 versus my 998.

I have pulled the Aspen Sentry all over the US with the 990. Never know its there - just watch the weight!
