• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer tongue height

I am working on building my own trailer to tow behind my 2012 RT Ltd. and need to know what the tongue height should be. Anyone got a tape measure and a hitch handy?? :)

I am asking because I have not purchased the hitch for the Spyder yet. I know, proverbial cart before the horse!

Hitch height is about a foot. Basically the hitch extends out straight from the swingarm...so the ball is about at axle height. Spyder tongue weight is limited to 40 pounds. It should not be less than 15. Your trailer weight is very dependent on how the trailer is constructed and loaded. A tongue mounted cooler can really add to it in a hurry, and a rear mounted spare tire can make it too light. As a general rule of thumb, 10%-20% of the loaded trailer weight is the norm for trailers.
