• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

trailer to take your bike to the dealer or the airshow or ??

I have had a 5 foot wide trailer for 10 years or so and amongst other uses, it has taken a few bikes to the shop for magical repairs. Now that I have a 62 inch wide Spyder, I'm not about to try to load it on that trailer. I just deleted my idea I was going to ask you geniuses about. It was too stupid to even ask when I re-read it.

So, has anyone ever successfully widened a 5 foot trailer to take a Spyder on a flat bed comfortably? Oh yea, with some degree of economic sense in the mix somewhere and most importantly, the Spyder has never fallen off or had the plastic ripped off. I'd only use it if the bike became mentally disabled and Nanny wouldn't let it run more than 50 or so. 45 miles to the dealer in 2nd gear with no steering is not anything I'd like to do. The 4x4 shop that two race teams have down the road 10 miles has a nice trailer I could use, if it didn't have a wrecked ATV from the past weekend parked on it most of the time. Talk about expensive repairs!!! $14,000 worth of repairs when it was wrecked 2 days after their client picked it up.

Thanks for reading and maybe someone has the answer - besides saying "are you #&@*ing me??":yikes:

Depending on the construction of the trailer, and the design, many can certainly be widened. If the clearance is tight, I reccomend angle iron or something similar on the side rails to keep your tires on the trailer if your aim wanders. You could also widen just the rear and load the Spyder backwards, but you should remove the windshield if you tow this way.

TRAILER

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE......I TOOK A SINGLE JET SKI TRAILER AND CONVERTED IT TO A SINGLE SNOWMOBILE TRAILER USING ONLY WOOD.!!!!....I DO HAVE TO TOW THE SNOWMOBILE BACKWARDS...BUT SINCE IT HAS A COVER THAT'S NOT A PROBLEM......GO FOR IT......2 INCHES....I COULD DO THAT IN MY SLEEP....MIKE...GOOD LUCK....

Here's what someone else did with his 5' trailer, if yours is similar?

Thanks, Gents. The first is sorta like I was thinking, but almost at a lack of words to discribe it.
The pic looks like something I could do, as I have a set of sides about 6 inches high for when I've hauled two bikes and didn't want anything scrated up by the higher sides.

Appreciate your input very much. it really puts it in perspective better. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I've got two six foot ramps from before I put the loading gate on it, I can probably get one of my sons-in-law to help, bending over and doing a little work is an effort and 1/2.

Thanks again, if we get to the pic stage, I'll be sure to post it if it works.
