There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I have a trailer that has a 5 pin square plug and the BRP wiring that comes with the hitch has a 4 pin square plug, therefore I need an adapter to accommodate this situation. Can anyone out there tell me where I can get this type of adapter.

Thanks
Larry

First of all, I've searched and read nearly every thread about trailer wiring and adapters. Secondly, I'm illiterate regarding everything electrical. Before the riding season ended I had a BRP hitch and harness installed knowing that I'd be getting a trailer. I knew that I wouldn't be buying a BRP trailer because, in my opinion, they're drastically overpriced. I also have an adapter that will accept the standard flat 4 wiring figuring that would be on any "new" trailer purchased. However, I just acquired a used trailer at a price that was fantastic and should fulfill my needs. It's a "Breeze" out of Wisconsin. breezetrailers.com. The manufacturer provided the following information about their wiring: they use, what they call, a standard 6 way plug with these color codes...White-ground; Brown-tail lights; Blue-brake lights; Yellow-left turn and Green-right turn. The sixth is Black which isn't used but can be for extra lights or switched power. So, my question is...and please forgive my aforementioned ignorance...can this be converted to a flat 4? If not what can be done without any ill effects on the Spyder's electrical system? I am not stupid enough to attempt any fix myself. A good friend is an electrical whiz, but has no knowledge (or desire to learn) of Spyders. I've seen him design and build complete electrical systems for cars, race cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique vehicles. I'm just hoping to provide him with an ideal on what to do to the trailer without ENDANGERING the Spyder's system. If it were any other vehicle I'm certain that my friend could rework the trailer's wiring without any problems. And, thanks for your understanding of my non-existent electrical knowledge.

The simplest and cheapest solution would be to go to an autoparts store and buy a pig tail the fits to the trailer connector and another one the fits the Spyder. Wire the 2 together to make an adapter. The yellow turn signal lights on the trailer will no longer work but the red stop lights will be converted to combination brake/turn signal lights.

Thanks!

Thanks!

OOOOPS I forgot a step. On each trailer tail light the brake light and turn signal wire need to disconnected. Then the turn signal wire from the harness needs to be attached to the brake wire from the tail light.

Sorry I am not sure what I was thinking at the time.

Just a question, why couldn't you just remove the ground wire.
It's getting it's ground through the hitch?
Now you have a five wire

Theoretically it would work, but the hitch does not provide a reliable connection because of resistance from rust and poor contact.
