Trailer 622 tire preassure

I will be checking mine in the winter months to see how the bearing buddys worked out for me..I know how much grease I put in before hand and like to see how much got to the rear bearings.

They create a vacuum and suppose to bring the grease into the bearing areas.?

The thing I did notice was the bearing to axle tolerance was off a bit as I noticed they spin on the axle versus the bearing on the rears only..

I had them on and and took them off for two reasons.


First: I had to leave the plastic hub cover off and did not like looking at the BB. What did you do?

Second: Pumped a lot of grease in but never reached the rear bearing. After the gun got very hard to pump I quit thinking I was going to blow out the rear seal.

Let us know this winter if any grease got to the back bearing.

I put on the BB black cover sleeve

I bought the BB with the blue bladder that push out when filled. Have to pull the trailer to create a vacuum to get the grease to pull in..I used a regular grease gun and pumped 20 pulls of the handle until the blue bladder popped out

Keep you posted what I find when I recheck the bearing and grease :thumbup:

I run 35 lbs per the manual. Someone mentioned running max. pressure of 60 lbs; that is the max. pressure stamped on the side of the tire. This size tire is used on a lot of different types of trailers, etc. and CAN run that high for larger trailers and heavier loads. But our little ole trailers don't need that kind of pressure. Besides, it will cause excessive wear on the center of the tread, as well as cause the trailer to bounce around a lot. JMHO.

Jack, I also have the Bearing Buddy Bras on mine, they replace your hub cap. We have checked mine at least 3 times since I started using them and there is grease everywhere it is supposed to be.

PMK do you have a RT-622 trailer and have you tried this successfully? If so I might give the BB's another

try.
