Traded my Goldwing for a new 2012 Rt Limited

:yes:Last Fri went down to the dealer and finally did the deed.I have done 88000 miles on my 03 Wing.Most of it long distance touring.For the past few months I have contemplated buying a Spyder.I decided to wait until we completed Our Summer trip to Idaho,Britsh Columbia and Alberta.We arrived in Northern Michigan where I am spending the Summer.I knew there was a good local dealer in Gaylord so on the 6th rode down and bought it.
I have ridden250 miles in the last couple of days and have really started to enjoy riding it.
I have read a lot of posts on the forum and have learnt some interesting things.

Word to the wise, if you have the SE5 (paddle shift) make sure you keep the RPM above 3,500-4,000. You can plod along on the Goldwing in high gear at low RPM but you can not on the SE5 Spyder

The Rotax loves higher RPM, you should be changing gear between 4,000 and 5,000, took a little while to get used too.

I also came off a 2005 Goldwing, I was very concerned about the quality of the Can Am verses the GL1800... So far so good and I enjoy riding the Spyder, keeping my fingers crossed on the dependability of the Spyder.

So far so good.Its 10 days since I got it.I have paid attention to the posts on the forum re the correct way to ride this using the high revs after riding the Goldwing for 88000 miles.It takes some getting used to but am really enjoying the ride.My wife loves it,so far so good no problems at all.

I too came from a Gold Wing, 2007. The Spyder is sure a lot different, but a fun ride. My wife is not 100% sold yet, as she prefers the GL1800 due to the passenger riding the Spyder has such a different sensation and she feels a bit car sick on twisties. Just came back from a 550 mile ride, and she felt a bit better. But I too am a bit concerned about quality and service issues, as the GL1800 was flawless. So far, pretty good.
