• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tracking App.

I do....

I use the "Followmee" app. but mostly so the family can see where I am along the way...

If you turn the feature on, most Garmins do keep "tracks" which is the routes you drive. IIRC they only keep them for 7 days or so, so if you want to keep a particular route just download it to your PC through Garmin Base Camp.

I use WYSE on my google because it also shows road conditions, accidents and problems in real time.

LocaToWeb is a great tracker

As mentioned above LocaToWeb is a great service and very popular in the MC community.
The main feature is live tracking, but it stores your tracks and gives you options to have your own profile. Ex: https://locatoweb.com/user/gamdog

Apps for all the platforms too.

Bubbler GPS

Bubbler GPS for me. The standard is free, but I use the PRO version for $9.99. Then I link it into Jason Jonus' SPOTWALLA for trip displays and tracking. I used to use SPOT but got too cheap to pay the substantial annual fee, and that also links to SPOTWALLA. I just noticed that Bubbler is only released for Android. The author had a similar app for a Big Money Rally that was initially released for Android and then later for Apple.

When I linked Bubbler to Spotwalla, I noticed all my trips were still there, and I think my last one was 2010. So, they don't go away.

It is pretty easy to take photos on Bubbler and have them display on SPOTWALLA. Pretty neat.

I highly recommend these.

Almost forgot - Jason also has SWConnect, but I haven't used it. If you use stuff from Jason, an occasional donation would help pay server expenses and development expenses. He has made substantial upgrades over the years.

I use a free app called "Glympse".

I just used Glympse on our Utah trip. My daughter now thinks she has to mother, mother and I. She loved it, said she could tell where we were, how fast we were going, and new all was ok. In fact when we stopped for lunch one day she started texting us what to order because she zoomed in on our location and saw we were at a Sonic.

The only drawback that I see is that it will use some of your DATA plan, and 4 hour increments are the longest you can go without resetting the timer.
