• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tox's Ryde Diary - Ryde II - "The Taylor Loop"

I got some good feeback on my first ryde post so thought I'd continue writing these as they happen and see how it goes.

Today, after a long day at work, with some not so fun meetings (because really, if we didn't meet, what would we do?!) I came home, played with my kids, and then around 7ish, my wife said, "wanna go for a ryde?" I won't say it out loud, but I think she's as hooked as I am :D

Not quite as far as the first ryde, but this was our first big ryde together. Here's the route we took.

Anyone in central Texas would like the east syde of 29. It's clear, open, and great scenery. We got to Taylor with just enough time to down a drink at Sonic to cool off and then head out to go up county Rd 110.

Not a long ryde, about 40 miles, but enjoyable and great scenery. County Road 110 isn't paved the best, but it's a great ryde into the setting sun around dusk and awesome for breezes.

Filled up for only $3.63 a gallon (which was nice as it's normally $3.79) but am still only getting about 29 to 30 MPG for my second fill up.

Got a little hot on the legs as I rode for the first time with shorts on, but it was such a nice ryde, with great scenery that it didn't matter much.

And unfortunately, I have to start remembering to take pics more often. None of this ryde, but will start taking more to share the scenery as we do more rydes.

Heat on the leg issue aside, (Spyderpops here I come) the spyder is still truning heads (mostly my own) and making us happy.

PS - the gang at work has dubbed her the "Whyte Knyght"... not my wife, the Spyder :ohyea:

Nice!!:2thumbs: Glad your enjoying your new :spyder2:. I to have a 2011 ( magnesium ), just a little under 700 miles ( catch me if you can..hehe ). I too have noticed the heat you mentioned when wearing shorts and will probably go the same route your about to. Although, I keep telling myself, I am not supposed to wear shorts on a bike...safety :sour:

BTW..I enjoy reading the stories... I am the same, constantly looking at my :spyder2:... it's like a disease...

Thanks for sharing your SpYder Adventures

Great posts, keep them coming & thanks for share'n :2thumbs:

Yeah, taking pics helps relay your adventures in more ways than words can describe

Teddy & I are right there with you, but we see it as more of an ADDICTION than a disease :yikes: On Teds 1st :ani29: we had it 11 months & put on almost 14000 miles. Have had his new 2011 :spyder2: for about a month now & we're right under 5000 miles :2thumbs: I just can't seem to stop myself :dontknow: & yeah, last week, I had a neighbor come up to me outside of my garage & tap me on the shoulder & he asked if I was ok? I was a little bewildered because I felt great, so I asked why he had asked me. He said, "Well Dave, you've been standing there staring into your garage for the past 10 minutes, I didn't know if you were having a stroke or seizure or something?" But then, he looked into my garage & he too took on my longing gaze for TEDDYS New Viper Red :spyder2: & then, all he said was, "Oh, I SEE!"

I had to :roflblack: Another one has been bitten by the SpYder Bug
