• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

 Just purchased the full RT cover for our RTS - SE5, last item in the directions states " do not tow Spyder with the cover on" has anyone done this and what were the results. We will be travelling 1000 miles and wanted to keep our Spyder safe from the envirorments.

I don't have the full cover but have done considerable towing. The wind will play havoc on the cover even if it don't blow off. If you do put it on, I'd wrap it with a blue tarp to protect it from fraying. Then tie the whole thing down with straps to keep it from flapping.

If memory serves, there's two full covers - one for inside storage and the tow - rated one. I've got the heavy one (around $250) and love it for towing. Just need to put a bungee around windshield to help keep cover from flapping/scoring the lexan. Did you get the inside storage cover, perhaps? :what:

Have to agree..!!

:agree:The flapping can also do damage to the bike as well. Most covers are designed as a weather protection and don't hold up well to high speed buffetting while being towed. :dontknow:

I wouldn't tow my Spyder with the cover on it -- no matter who says differently (no offense to those that do); or how many times they claim they have done it.

Tooooooo many stories of paint, chrome, and surface damage done when doing so... even from one guy who said; "That has never happened on all the other trips we took!" Geez... well it only takes once for the damage to occur for you to have a less than pleasurable experience.

They put warnings on products for a reason. And besides... some states will stop you with a covered machine.

All of these are reason enough for me not to do it. It is your machine though...

Towing Spyder with cover

Thanks for all replies! I did get the best cover $225.00, but I think I will Not cover! Don't want to take any chances...

I wouldn't tow my Syder with the cover on it -- no matter who says differently (no offense to those that do); or how many times they claim they have done it.

Towed my RTS in an open trailer over 4k miles last summer with no problem at all with the cover.
