There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Total cost of a Spyderfest trip

Let me stir the pot a little. What if it's being held as has been rumored in Branson and not Cuber ?(said like Teddy Kennedy) or has that issue been settled?

Chris

Use of credit card as opposed to cash... lost card no problem, lost cash big problem.
card provides good expense record, cash on by a good keeper of the reciepts and time wasted in buying gas.
Reservations for hotels, card no problem, cash big problem.

However, when card paid in full each month, that is same as cash. No interest or fees.

I also have heard of that rumor... I just wonder? Does last year spyderfest indicate too many people and not enough beds in and the area of Cuba?

:agree:

When Cindi & I went to Spyders in the Adirondacks we stayed in a State campground right behind Tail of the Pups BBQ where everybody met up for the rally...something we didn't know when we booked reservations..Saved us big time money and the campground was terrific...It cost us less than $800 to make the trip as far as camping, gas, food, registrations went....Not bad for 5 days...On the other hand...Just had to have Elka's installed on mine while we were there ($550 special installed) and another $450 to get new tires and a front end alignment for my Spyder so I could make it back to Michigan pulling the trailer..(Thank God for Roberts PowerSports). I agree with most everything I've seen here...figure $200 a day and you should be good. Anyway...if you and Holly decide to go you can stop here in Michigan for the first night of traveling and stay with us for the night and continue on with us the next day...will save you lodging for the night.

$100-$125 day is my travel budget

Last year to Spyderfest then on for a long month of NE USA/NovaScotia area...I target average for lodging of $50 nite (actual was $52.18 per nite including taxes)...rest is for fuel for Spyder and me...I eat one meal a day in restaurant..usually stay where they have a continental breakfast or grab an apple...then there is always my Starbucks latte!! I carry my own oil so not factored in my daily cash outlay. Toll roads, museums etc go under fuel/lodging line item.. Then when you have the incredible experience I had with generous Spyderlovers and their open door policy it is a double blessings..connection with awesome people and helps the budget...
Remember if headed my way open door for all Spyderlovers..includes custom made espresso drinks (I am addicted to those as well as the Spyder)..

If your correct, (by Mapquest) Branson is 169 miles and 2hrs 40 min further southwest of Cuba. Does that mean Cowtown will not be the host dealer ????? :banghead:

Branson would be a nice place to hold the party. But Branson is spelled "tourist trap". I was there a few years back and stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge a few miles south. If you want to see the "Country Western Vegas of the East" Branson is a great place to go. Everyone who you thought was dead has a theater on the strip. There are also lots of other attractions within a few miles.

Costs are obviously going to be higher for mostly everything--so add another $100 a day to the mix IMO.

One more feedback

Randy, you are probably sick of all the feedback by now, but here is 1 more. Nancy and I rode out to Cuba last year and we were gone from 4/22 until 5/01 which was 10 days if you figure when we got back home on 5/01. Our gasoline came to $372.21 all on our credit card. Our meals came to about $200 on the card but probably another $50 cash at some stops. Motels were $64.19 in Ohio on the way out for 1 night..... $404.57 for our stay at Cuba..... and another $63.24 in Ohio on the way home. We of course were 2 up and hauling a trailer out and back and just 2 up on rides around Cuba. I think we put on about 2800 miles altogether including all the rides around Cuba.

So here is the total for the 10 day trip:
Gas : $372.21
Food: 250.00
Motels: 532.00
$854.21 and we took $500 cash with us and came back with about $300

We didn't eat at a lot of expensive resurants....but we never do. We enjoy eating rather simply and not gorging our selves especially if we are on a trip with the Spyder....we feel a lot more comfortable than we do by overeating!!!

Hope this helps to give an idea of the trip to Cuba. We're not sure if we are going next year or not but will let you know if we plan on going and maybe you can join us and probably Ken T. from New Jersey and Don C. from Martville will be riding with us...."IF" we go.:dontknow:

Don't forget; he's got to have enough money in the budget for Holly's RT Limited...
Pack 10 days worth of PB&J sandwichesl You'll need about 80 of them to cover your 3 squares/day.
Plan on riding straight through in one shot! Your Motel costs will be minimized that way!
Wear sweatpants and sweatshirts; you can turn them inside out and get an extra day or three out of them...
:joke::joke:

By the looks of it, if you can afford a Twinkie you can afford Spyderfest.

it may not bring down the budget of the trip, but on long journeys like this if you can arrange a buddy system with two or more bikes, that can bring you peace of mind should the unexpected happen and you are in a cell phone dark zone.

No budget

2012 was our first Spyder Fest. I brought $1200 cash for farkles and things. I did not include the hotel or transportation costs. As far as I am concerned just go and have fun!!!!! We are looking forward to 2013!!!!!

THANK GOD FOR SENSIBLE PEOPLE
