• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Torx: English or Metric?

So, clearly, if I'm going to wrench on this puppy, I've got to buy a torx set. Reading some of the how-to's, I can't figure if I need to get an english or metric set. Advice, please?

Mertric hex I'm good with - I'm coming from a Kawisaki.

What range of Torx, then? Seems to be small sets and big ones.

I have found I only use a Torx 30 on the body panel fasteners. I have other sizes but don't use them (that I can remember)

As others have said there are no English or Metric Torx just Torx.

I have a 1/4" drive set of #8 to #25
A 3/8" drive set of #27 to #50
A 1/2" drive set of #27 to #55

The 1/4" & 3/8" drive ones are the "security" ones with a hole in the end of the bit to fit over a knob in the Torx fastener. They work on regular Torx fasteners as well.

Torx " DRIVE"

I certianly could be wrong here but the Torx is the drive system for the machine screw thread. The thread on a Torx drive screw head can be either metric or fractional.

To the best of my knowledge a Torx fastener (bolt, machine screw) can have a metric or a non metric thread but the head of said fastener accepts a Torx # drive. So you buy the same set of Torx drivers for metric or non metric fasteners.

Yikes...!!

You need a set of torx there is no english, metric or sae on those. Good to have a set of metric and sae wrenches, allens and sockets. As for the english stuff...you only need one wrench..its called a cresent wrench...:roflblack::roflblack:does come in sm md and lg....

Is this a serious question, or just a joke to see how many people will fall for it? :joke:

Torx is torx. A T-xx head is the same in England, Japan, Canada, or the USA.
