• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at the manual it looks like an all day sucker. You need to remove the following; L/R service panels, R/L side panels, Remove screws L/R securing top rails, Remove retaking screws inside gauge support both sides, Loosen console nose lower retaining screw, Unclip upper portion of nose, then pivot forward,, Remove key switch cover, Remove central bezel, Remove console panel. This will get you to where you have access to the bulb. There may be a step or two that I missed, but if you are going this deep it should be minor. Good luck.

:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: BRP sure knows how to make changing a light bulb difficult. I think I would have been disappointed if changing the headlights on the F3 was easy.

HOLY

Don't buy a 2013 or newer Ford Fusion!! Gotta pull the whole front nose off to change a headlight...:yikes:

This is what you get when.....

I am sure that the CanAm Spyder, all models,
are designed by NON mechanical minded folks
who never have or will ever have to fix anything
or change a light bulb, I am sure they are all designed by
committee, picture a bunch of people who don't ride or
never have sitting around a big oval table trying to design
the Spyders and doing a fine job of making every damn thing on them
hard to get to or repair....

body parts....

Those dirty scoundrels at BRP hiding the headlight changeout procedure in the owner's manual. They know darn well nobody reads that. :roflblack::roflblack:

To be even more devious they put it in the section call "How to replace fuses and lights." Who would ever look there. :roflblack::roflblack:

CORRECTED

Not true Billy, everyone reads the manual. They turn right to the page with the oil change schedule, read it, close the book, put it down and promptly forget where they left it.

With the time it took you to add all of the silly emoticons, bold letters, fonts, colors, you could have changed your headlights and mine.
Good grief....

Headlight change on 2012 GMC Acadia Denali

Don't buy a 2013 or newer Ford Fusion!! Gotta pull the whole front nose off to change a headlight...:yikes:

My headlight went out & I was about to research the replacement procedure---about the same time I got a GM recall letter stating if a problem occurs with headlights they will change it out for free---something about light heatshield not being effective.
I read the procedure--highlights include removing the front fender & front bumper assy. The tech at the GMC stated the invoice would have exceeded $2000--they replaced both headlights & heat shields.
Really sounds crazy---used to take 1/2 dozen screw removals.

I should have asked "how much wil it cost "without the girl"

How many Spyderlovers does it take to change a lightbulb?

(rhetorical question)

However; an answer does exist...
Once the original question has been posted; you will get 30 responses.
Since the OP never lists their bike model in their signature...
1 response will be to ask which model
2 will remind the OP that by listing this info; they save lots of time
1 will be to ask how to put this info into their signature
2 will be for the incorrect model of Spyder...
3 will have War Stories about what it took for their Dealer to change it.
1 will complain about trying to get it changed at a Dealership where they didn't buy the bike
4 will complain about Dealership Labor costs
4 will complain about how the Dealerships train their personnel
2 will tell you how easy it is to do by yourself
3 will say that they never had to change a bulb in their Harley/Honda/Kawasaki/Indian/Suzuki/Yamaha/Victory
2 will mention that all of the bulbs come from Thailand
3 will tell humorous stories about reminding their Harley-riding friends of that fact....
1 will actually give you the proper instructions
and...
1 will post a video...
