• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tool question - Are the Spyders metric, standard, or a combination?

Metric! Torx bits are their own category used on both metric and SAE applications. The most important thing to remember on Spyders is the 1330 engine crankcase plug is a T45 Torx and the clutch cover, a.k.a., transmission, plug is 6mm Allen.

All vehicles - even Harleys - are metric. Always check the rotation of the ratchet before putting it on a fastener. Especially the two oil drain plugs. Many have stripped those because they didn't check the rotation of the wrench. Or used a wrong or ill fitting bit.

All H-D hex head fasteners are SAE..

Witch brings up a good point, try the socket or wrench on and if it seems loose, try the other breed to see if it is tighter! You just don't ever know these day's!

No, unfortunately that's not true. HD has use a mix of SAE and metric on bikes for years. As they use new fasteners they are replacing with metric but old part numbers are still used on many current models and are SAE. One of my pet peeves working on HD is you can never be sure.

ALL Torx head fasteners are metric.

To answer the OP's question directly, all fasteners on Spyders are metric.
