• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a motorcycle.....it's great....a Honda VTX 1300.....bought it new in 06 and now have 45,000 miles on it....just one thing, the wife wont go anywhere with me! So....I have been looking at the Spyders for the past several years with the intention of her going on it and eventually being the rider! With her sincere approval, I bought a nice new RT Limited in Lava Bronze....with a trailer!! so, yesterday, we went for a nice long ride...and she loved it!! I hope she meant it!! Now, we can start going out with friends who ride.......

:congrats: on the new ryde. The fun is just beginning. If you get her to drive it, she will soon want her own.

Your lucky it's just the Spyder,
My Wife wants nothing to do with me or any of my toys.:roflblack:

I have a "friend" who said his wife wanted nothing to do with him or any of his toys either.

He thinks she must have secret toys of her own.:roflblack: :roflblack:

My wife won't ride with me on our Spyder .......... I'm sure gonna miss her!!!;)

No, no, just joking and paraphrasing an old joke that's been applied to many situations.

In actuality, she's ridden many miles with me on a variety of two wheeled conveyances and says the Spyder is by far her favorite, most enjoyable ride ever. Before we bought one last year we had rented a Spyder and did a 2200 mile trip on it. Her enthusiasm for the Spyder was the major factor in my deciding to buy one, which we purchased for two up riding almost exclusively. Purchased in March 2011, by late October we had over 11k very enjoyable miles on it.

My sympathies to all whose wives won't ride with you on your Spyders. They are missing a great experience! But some folks, both male and female, just can't get over a fear of not having a protective metal layer around them when traveling down a road. I've ridden for 42 years and it has contributed untold memorable, highly enjoyable experiences to my life and I'm grateful to now have someone to share these with.

I have owned various two wheelers, and my sweet little wife always swore she wouild never be brave enough to ride one of those things. We purchased a 2012 RT Spyder A&C SE5 with performance package from Len at Cowtown last month, and after some really short slow rides, she slowly began to enjoy the ride. Now she wants us to take it everywhere, groceries, etc. At a local fuel stop, a customer asked how she liked it and she said it is wonderful. Sure made my day ! We are both enjoying our seventy years young on the:spyder2: :2thumbs:

Once upon a time, less than 1 month ago, the wife enjoyed going for a ride. Problem now, she's the one behind the bars! She took it to work again today and left me to drive the car...sigh!

thanks for all the nice replies....and even those who took the whole thing somewhere else!!!! we bought the Spyder so she would ride...I really enjoy being out there and decided that I loved the Spyder and hoped she would! I am not pushing her too much...and I do hope she will actually be the "one behind the bars" one day!!

Me too

I went through the same thing with my wife. I had a Yamaha Stratoliner 1600 and loved it, but the wife would not ride on 2 wheels. Bought the black RT and now she wants to drive, in the neighborhood anyway. Not taken any trips yet but she loves it. Not as much as me of course! :sour:
