• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you do when you own some of the best cold weather gear available and there's not enough snow to go snowmobiling??? Ya fire up the Spyder!!! I rode about 90 miles this afternoon stopped to get a picture in front of the frozen lake. It was about 15 degrees and a pretty stout wind from the south

I took a break at a gas station and several people told me it was too cold to ride a motorcycle. And they thought I lived there and was just riding around town

Way to go.....

Any chance is a good one to get out there. Hope you have many more opportunities as long as you can't go the other way....sledding...:2thumbs:

While I was on my adventure, I went into a campground and rode on some icy roads and played around a bit to test how the Spyder reacts. Few observations: when you hit the brakes and one of the front wheels hits a patch of ice you almost cannot tell that wheel is skidding. Pretty impressive. Anytime the rear end steps out on a spin it gets real excited and goes nuts. If you're not in the throttle and turn the front wheels and they push it does nothing. It doesn't even flash the light at you. If you're going to travel over any ice at all carry a little momentum because taking off from a dead stop is tough. These things don't have much bite on that rear tire.

15° and I rode my wife's ST in today. I wanted to test the heated gear controller and grips. Worked great. Not worried about salt on the road, though it snowed a couple days ago. It is all part of riding, and this is no chrome polish cruiser. ricky.gif

I MEAN LIKE WOW! Now people around your area will think all Spyder Ryders are DIE HARDS Hats off to you, the one with the fur lining and big ear muffs!

I have to get out tomorrow to go to a meeting at another architects office for a project. I normally drive my spyder, but I will be in the SUV tomorrow. We only had about 2" of sleet and an inch of snow, but the salt is the issue for me. It will be hard enough to wash the other vehicles, I don't want to deal with that on my spyder.
