• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took a ride on principle....

Brian and I just got back from a short little spyder ride. I want to be able to say I rode every month of the year even in Michigan. It is only 14 degrees but this is as clear and dry as the roads have been all month. We only went about 10 miles but it sure felt good to go out. If I had my heated gloves or better gloves, I could have stayed out longer. I miss my spyder so bad. It was nice to get her out.

I miss ryding my Spyder too. I was actually excited to roll it off the trailer last night in the garage. How sad is that !
Oh well, I'm counting the "sleeps" until we leave for Florida:yes:. If I'm lucky I'll be ryding by next Sunday...can't wait.

:congrats: Deb, glad to hear you got to ryde; I can't imagine not being able to take mine out for an etended period of time.

we went for a 130 mile ride today here in fla it was 73 degrees and great to ride after the cold snap weve had for about a week it felt great:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::b2b:

11 months for me and counting 1 to go here in NH good for you dltang

Yeah, we got our March of 2008 and we rode them regularly up until Dec of 2008. I got about 2 and a half weeks of riding in Dec. This is the first time I was able to ride in Jan. 2009 and I might have another shot at it on Monday. That just leaves me with Feb. and I'll have a year in where I was able to ride every month. My spyder just makes me smile. Keep up the good work there tatt2r, we have to set good examples for all the newbies. LOL

Yeah....I'm with ya...45 degrees on Thursday and I had to get out...only 30 minutes, but it felt good...problem is that I wore my summer gloves...duh!

yes we do my dear ..... (got mine march also)

Congrats, Deb! Way to go! We got ours in March, too, and had high hopes, but January is going to be a bust. You must have less salt than we do. Heck, even our main roads aren't completely clear of snow yet, and our street has sveral of inches of snow pack left, although they plowed off the loose stuff. I have resigned myself to the fact that I will have to ride vicariously though you and Tatt2r. The only motorcycle related action I am likely to see is to charge the vintage bike batteries on the shelf in the basement. :(

Gotta make sure you keep that twitch from truly developing from having Spyder withdrawals huh Deb? I went crazy not being able to ride (or even see) mine for over a week!

Glad to hear you got to ride!

Or you could get some of these. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/hippo-hands/
Or Bruce could send you some from that discount barrel at his dealership.

Glad you could get out and about Deb. I'm in the same situation as Scotty. When the roads are finally clear of snow and ice, they are still white with residual salt. Poisonous stuff! Maybe they don't use as much in your neck of the woods, but my city is very liberal with its application here. :yikes: I will just have to keep finding other diversions for the next couple of months.

Nothing lasts forever. Our roads have had a moderate to heavy coating of salt since the first real snow. If salt eats away at our Spyder, we'll just have to get another one.
