• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well this was going to be the second year for the spyder to be in the parade, to carry a mascot for the Tomball Pet Resort. GlynnK was going to carry one of the other mascots on his spyder. Nasty weather had both mascots riding on the trailer to the parade area, thank God, as the one to ride with me was my granddaughter. On the way to the parade line up we had to travel the back way into Tomball, traveling about 15 mph. Made a left hand turn to get to the church for the parade and a guy running late for work decided to pass Glynn, the trailer and truck in a no pass zone and this is the result: http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll205/edarcher/Spyder%20Accident%2011-21-09/. Just now starting to get around, thankfully he did have insurance. Don’t know, but believe the bike to be totaled, frame badly bent, and the trailer was badly damaged also. Looks like we get to be spyderless for the next few months, but will be back on the road as soon as we can, looking forward to seeing y’all soon.

Glad to hear you are still with us.

Ed, glad you are getting around, sorry about your Spyder. It can be replaced. How did you and everyone with you come out of it?

Sorry to hear about your wreck -- but glad you're okay!

Can I ask what brand windshield you had on the Spyder?
I assume that is what is laying in pieces on the ground?

:yikes: This is always bad when it happens but when you get to talk about it it is a + :ani29: Glad you are kind of OK :doorag:

Sorry to hear this. Glad you came out relatively unscathed. Too bad about your Spyder. If you came off, don't forget to add your gear to the list of things to be replaced.

Such a bummer.

Thankful to hear your not too badly hurt, but sorry to hear your scoot is down. Best of luck with your recovery & the rebuilding of your Spyder!

Wow, I look at the pictures and I think how much worse it could have been. Bad enough as it is but thankfully no one critically injured. That guy must have REALLY been in a hurry but no excuses. Hoping everyone involved has a speedy recovery. Do I imagine an RT in the future? ;)

Every body's in a hurry. There's a new measure of time= How fast it take's the car behind you to blow his horn when the light turn's green:gaah:

Thanks for all the replies. A great family and a good Thanksgiving always helps you feel better. Going for MRI's tomorrow so I'll know more next week. An upgrade because of someones impatience would be a nice comeback from this, but way too soon to know, have to heal first. The windscreen was a F1 EIII, It's what I believe kept me from going over the handle bars, don't know if that was a good or bad thing.

It appears this Thanksgiving you truly do have something to be thankfull for. Maybe a new RT is in the picture!

Really glad you are okay!

So many things could have happened to make the crash worse. Those broken pieces of windshield on the ground are scary.

That kind of breakage shouldn't happen. This is why it is so important to make sure your shields are made of DOT approved materials. Lexan will not shatter like that. Some acrylics will. Obviously that is the acrylic that will shatter (not DOT approved).

FYI - the CHAD is made of DOT approved Lexan (Polycarbonate). Everyone should consider this when buying shields.

This video is an eye-opener:

Sorry for the hi-jack....... just really struck me as a real-life example of how all shields are not created equal.

Please post and let us all know what is going on with your Spyder. Maybe repairable--- maybe not.:dontknow:

Passing on in a no-pass zone--- :gaah:
