There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Too good to be true...?

Very much appears to be a scam since they are 20K short on the asking price. Maybe they are just planning on selling the picture(s)--not the bike.

Maybe it's one of those deals where Hubby runs off with his girlfriend, calls the Wife with instructions to sell his pride and joy and send him the money...

I am almost tempted to reply to the add, almost. Perhaps if it was red that would have pushed me over the edge. :roflblack:

I think this is the one owned by the dude in Nigeria who was riding it and got attacked and killed by an Elephant. His estate is selling the Spyder to recover expenses. You can send money (cashier's check) and then come to Nigeria to pick it up.:roflblack:

Thanks, Just for fun I followed up on this ad and shot out an email. Here are the replies to date.

Hello Mike,

I am located in Olympia, WA and I've posted the ad in all the big cities to sell it quicker. The bike is in a great condition, it has no scratches or damage and never been down or wrecked, it has 83 miles. This bike has a clear title and all papers come along with the bike. The price is $7400 shipping included to your address. Let me know if you are interested.

Anthony; I have a friend Jim Thorsen who lives very close to you. I spoke to him this afternoon. He will drive over to check the bike out and will bring along a cashiers check from his bank. Please give me your address and phone number so he can make contact with you. Mike

Mike, the bike is deposited at the company warehouse, packed in a container that it won't be opened until is delivered along with all the documents. You'll need to inspect it at your home place.

And so the story goes.

Hi everybody.

Yep. I also responded to this ad in HOPES that I was getting a steal...literally! I thought my dream of Spyder ownership was finally going to become a reality. NOT! This ended up being a scam like so many others. They want you to send them money first, without ever seeing the bike. I can't see how anybody would be gullible enough to do this. I'm desperate enough to believe something like this, but I'm not about to send money sight unseen!

The quest continues....

WOW funny stuff! I have that same e-mail from a person in texas about a Can-Am four wheeler we wanted. Same story the only difference is that I was going to fly to texas to see it myself.

This all sounds like the guy who bought a "freshly polished Gold Wing in excellent shape" , among other goodies. When it came, it looked like the polishing was done with a wire wheel. When he took the tupperware off, he found a "few" other problems. He checked with a dealer and found the parts alone, plus what he paid for it, would have got him a nice new one.

Glad to hear none of you were taken by this deal. It is truly amazing what some people will try to pull on others. :gaah:

I think that was the same guy i called a scam on if you keep preesing him he will tell you he is in england working on an oil rig but i must admit he did change bikes.
