Just like zzneonzz (Tim) said; it's going to make the wait that much harder now! But, it was great! I received my motorcycle endorsement this past Thursday, thanks in a big way to Tim offering to meet me at my local DMV, and letting me take his SE5 around the building, and operate the lights for the fine folks at Oakland's Driver's Testing Center (yes; that's the riding portion of the test
). :thumbup:Afterwards, we enjoyed some coffee, and good conversation at the cafe next door.
Tim was at the dealer when I arrived this morning. It was sprinkling some, so we just sat around and talked with a couple of other customers and the employees for a bit. Oh! And, Tim bought something very cool for his SE5. But, I'll let him tell you all about that.
After the rain stopped, I finally took the Full Moon SM5 Spyder demo out into the cove where our dealer is. I wanted to get used to it before I went out into traffic. And, this was the first time I had a Spyder out of 3rd gear, too! :sour: I rode it around the adjoining backstreets where there are some strip shops, more coves, and no traffic. I took it into a couple of these businesses parking lots, and played around with Reverse, too.
Then; I followed Tim on the dealer approved demo ride which is comprised of several square blocks making up around 5 miles, I would guess. The maximum speed on the roads we traveled is 45mph. And, that was fine since the HD Bones helmet that is on loan to me by another friend that rides a HD Road King, wanted to lift off my head above around 50mph! :yikes: No matter; it was a blast! And, like everyone says, nothing is like a Can-Am Spyder! :2thumbs: Tim and I did that route twice. He had to leave, and I hung around. As we were talking right before he left, another customer was there interested in the Spyder. So, I was going to have to wait to take the demo out again.
So, I went ahead and purchased the Can-Am Spyder Respirator Gloves. A few minutes later, I took to the road again. The gloves help! And, yes; they do breathe. Very cool! As I was getting ready to make the last turn onto the main road leading back to the dealer, rain started again.
I was going to make another circuit. But, I decided to bring it back. That was really, really, nice! Hopefully, my Spyder will be arriving within the next couple of weeks!!
