• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

today i learned something about DWI in NYS

I agree. Texting and driving is just as dangerous. The punishment has grown some, but not enough in my opinion.
quite a few studies has shown that talking a hands free phone while drive is just a little worse than a .08 blood alcohol level. Texting is WAY higher than that. Why talking on the phone while driving is legal is due to our "attention deficit disorder" government.

right, every time they start their car/ truck they have to blow in the machine and it records the readings to be downloaded

This is is still a flawed system, I know guys who have their wife/girlfriend use the breath analyzer to start their car so they could get to work some mornings...still legally drunk from the night before.

This is more common than you think.

In NYS they've gotten a little more serious.

My son in law, a trooper, said they definitely have increased the number of tickets given out. I've also noticed signs along highways about 2 cell phone violations and you lose your license.

the installer said something about taking a picture of the person in the car, but i can't quote what he said because i really don't remember, so i never mentioned it here

And driving while texting which is just as bad is a $10 ticket here with no points. What is wrong with that picture? Oh and they make it so the POPO must actually see it happen so how can they prove it? Then you are allowed to do it at a stoplight. Stupid law.

i've had cars at my place that have that in there, they have to let me know because we may need to move it. i don't
say anything to them but i don't feel bad in any way. you have to pay for your drinks if they are too expensive then
try stewarts root beer.
no it's not fair that the rich can buy their way out of it but it also is not fair that the poor can get into an accident & when
they get sued they lose nothing, it's the regular working stiff that loses everytime

Doesnt work the device will call for a retest within 4 min of initial start up then a retest at random after that and you have to blow then suck so you cant use an air tank

Hi Art,

Re: I am talking about confiscating the vehicle in addition to the normal DUI punishment.

They do, every time. He just goes out & buys another one.

If one is truly determined to drive, they can do it.

Must use a different system here, I've seen them do it.

Its been a 2-3 years, so maybe different now? :dontknow:

My state has all too many of them &his slowly gettin the txt drivers too, just last year they implemented the no txt &drive. In school zones. Serious fines and suspension on multiple violations. Quite literally can develop to negligent homicide!
