• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Was wondering how many of you use Ride On tire sealer and your thoughts, leaving for a 1600 mile trip soon.

Seems this topic has already been covered:opps:, did a search and found it:opps: If anyone wants to give their opinion feel free thanks!

People here seem to love it. I went along with the crowd and it cause my tires to go out of balance and that could not be fixed until I removed the Ride on. Of course when you first put it in your tires you will have a severe out of balance for the first couple of miles but that goes away. My problem was different from that.

When I used it on my 2010 RT, the severe out-of-balance persisted for a few miles every time I rode until the tires warmed up... If you can put up with that aggravation then you will probably like Rideon!

Other than the hassle of getting it into the tires, it's great. We put it into our 2012 RT-S and the first 10 or 15 minutes after putting it in the tires there was a bit of a shimmy until it was evenly distributed. We ride every weekend and we've never experienced any further shake or wobble caused by the stuff settling in the tire. I would assume that if we let the RT sit for several weeks, there would be some settling and a bit of shimmy like when you first put it in.

For the extra piece of mind when out and about, we think it is worth it.

If you carry a good plug kit like the Stop-N-Go and a small compressor, it is probably not necessary. It usually doesn't hurt unless there is a tire defect or the wrong amount is added, although some owners in hot climates have complained of it drying out and causing balance issues. Most owners love it...especially in regard to the advantages for balancing the tires. It does tend to pool at the bottom and make the tires bounce for a few miles/minutes, especially in cool climates. More Spyder owners use it for balancing purposes than flat protection. The choice is yours...it generally can't hurt, and may be worth it for piece of mind alone.

Tires

I am assuming you are talking about stuff you put in your tires like "Fix-it". I was told by the tire people here that you should NEVER put that kind of stuff in your tires because it will cause them to be out of balance. I had a tire changed one time and they also told me never use it. He cleaned all the gook out of my tire and said "Don't do that any more". Now this is what I was told. Maybe it's because I live in warn, "No Hot" area (Texas).

Ride-On is not like Fix-It and Slime. It is not gooey, cleans up with water, and most tire shops accept it.

:agree: Never had a flat in my life and if I do I,m certainly not going to ride across the country because Ride On is There.
I was upset with the 40-42 mph wheel wobble (Until I changed the tires) so I would probably Go Nuts if I had to put up with tires bouncing for 2-3 miles because I might get a flat that in 45 years of driving I Never Got?

Have I made myself clear!:roflblack:
