• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To Alaska and Back...

They’re 21 teeth missing in your belt picture. :yikes:
I would look into back wheel bearings...

She's running like a top now. Do you think the bearings will last will we get home?

Can't afford any more down time. Hubby has to get back to work soon.

Joy, I'm glad they took care of you at Bow Cycles, the starter on my Spyder came off a demo spyder last year when we were on our way to SITS. Things happen for a reason and timing is everything and you had good timing breaking down where you did.

We have AAA RV/Motorcycle which we haven't had to use (knock on wood) but I have heard that it doesn't always work or isn't necessarily available nationwide. It may not be available at all in Canada.

All I know is Scotty the tow-truck-driver in Canada recommended we get it. He said there would have been no out of pocket cost for the Spydee tow. :sour:

Calgary, Alberta to Helena, Montana

First thing we have to re-get-used-to is the sun setting and darkness during the night.

Nanton, Alberta War Memorial. There was a wall going out both sides. All from WWII bomber flights. So many names...

Around the Alberta - Montana boarder. Farm lands and pasture land abound!

The Blackfeet Reservation boundry markers.

The outskirts of Glacier National Park. Think there's been a fire recently?

Seems there is bad weather behind and before us. Hope we are in the Zone...

Envious

That is one area of the country I have never got to visit. I would love to ryde over it; I follow your post each day and look forward to your adventures.

Loved the pics from Jasper, Calgary, and the Parks. Have ridden through those areas a dozen times, and always spend days at and around Jasper (always in September tho !) - just love the area. Always take the tram to the the top for pics and REALLY fresh air!!

Too bad you missed Waterford (Canada's Glacier Park) - we went into the Hotel in full leathers at High Tea - all the waiters were in kilts - full dress. What a hoot.

Couldn't resist adding my favorite screen saver for comparison (again Sept.)

Have done the Brice/Zion ride many times too - before they closed the valley to non-park vehicles. I also rented a chopper and took my riding buddies for a dawn tour of Brice at dawn - they used to have tours, if you can find and afford one, I highly recommend it.

Have a safe ride home.

Are you and Jeff going to go through Yellowstone on your way over to Utah? Keep the information coming--it continues to be my first daily look at SL.com.

I'm enjoying following you both on your trip.

What motorcycle is your husband riding?

Hubby is riding a BMW R1200 GS. Hate to admit it, but his bike gets as many questions as Spydee does.

Glad you're enjoying the ride! :D

This is a beautiful place up here. Not many tourists, and such grand scenery. The beef is great around here is tasty too!

Happy to have you along on our adventures. :2thumbs:

I hope you are in the zone to. Safe travels.

Thanks for the good Mo Jo! Only one cloud spit at us today.

Looking good. :2thumbs:

Just sharing with my friends...:D

Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!!

Glad you're enjoying the trip! :2thumbs:

In Japser, we were going to take the tram to the top. We backed out because the clouds were low and ominous, with a wind. We made friends with a pack of German riders instead.

Would have loved to see you walk into High Tea in leathers!:roflblack:

Because of time down getting the bikes worked on, time is starting to be an issue. We skirted Glacier National Park, but never got the chance to enjoy it.

Think you went through at a better time than we. Beautiful picture!!!

Wish we could go through Yellowstone, but need to make up for lost time.:(

From the boarder of Canada, we hit I-15 and making a B-line for Sister's house in Utah.

Helena, Montana to Idaho Falls, Idaho

Headed out of Helena through canyons and valleys.

One of the Continental Divides we went over today.

This is the only nasty cloud we entered. Believe it or not, it only lasted ten monutes. Dry within minutes!

Out my back door... The Snake River winding through Idaho Falls.

Relax for a couple of days. You both are probably in need of a little down time. :doorag:

Yup, a little down time is doing good. Don't realize how beat up you get on the road till you relax for a bit.

It's nice getting to chat with family again. :chat:

Yazz do you have family in every state you have been through ? cj

Just about. Both of us came from big families. Hubby visited family in Washington/Oregon and Alaska. Some of mine are in Utah. We planned the route to visit them. :D

Bump. Just incredible stuff. :2thumbs:

Bump. Gotta keep this up top.

Thanks! :2thumbs:

Idaho Falls, Idaho to Cache Valley, Utah

Headed down through southern Idaho. Miles and miles of fertile farmland.

It had rained about an hour before us and the place smelled of wet earth, hay and sage. What a wonderful aroma!

We went through some old lava beds.

Did you know Idaho has famous potatoes?

Arrived at Sister's place. So many family members dropped in. Got to see some recent additons to the family too. :)

Out my back door...
