There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. TIRES ????????

Front yes !! Good life many miles. Rear went to Kumho and got many more mile and better ride. I understand that BRP has changed the formulation on the new rear tires and it is better. ;)

I replaced my rear tire after 12k. Same make & model from Can Am dealer.
Spyder is a unique vehicle, I'm not ready to risk a 'car' tire to save pennies.

Gotta say...

I have had Kendas front and back for the last 33,000 miles with good performance. On my second rear and fronts now with the rear needing to be replaced soon and the fronts almost new. So 16,000 for the rear is pretty good as far as I am concerned and over 30,000 on the fronts is really good. I am going to try the Vee "Arachnid" tire in the rear next which is the other tire made for these machines. I see no reason to change but seem to be one of the few that find car tires were not designed for spyders...

TIRES ??????

How many of you have replaced your Spyder tires, with the same brand as supplied by BRP.

If you search on the words replace rear tire you'll come up with 440 hits. Reading all those will be a cure for insomnia for sure! :ohyea: The subject of replacing rear tire has been worn bald! Front tires not so much. With those there isn't near the negative feelings about the Kendas.

Still on original OEMs here

I am still on my originals OEM Kendas and have 12,100 miles on the bike. Bike was serviced last weekend @ Pitbull and comment on paperwork was that the rear will need replacing soon. I am toying with the idea of trying out the Arachnid tires and plan on getting the rear replaced before going to Spyderfest this year.

i dont think many people move away from the kenda for a few pennies but to get better tires. Personally i was going to look at all options on my RS but since i traded that for a new RT i am not going to have to worry about that for a while :)
There are many many people that have switched to non kenda tires and had great or better results so i would not rule it out. i think its just marketing by BRP. They make a deal with Kenda to tell everyone that Kenda is the only tires for a Spyder so Kenda sells more tires and then Kenda gives BRP a better price on their tires.

I replaced my originals with non-OEM tires. Better product for less money is always a big attraction to me.

All five :spyder2::spyder2: have had OEM tires (Kenda's). My dealer refuses to put non-Kenda's on :ani29:. I am stuck because I am not a mechanic and I do not want non-mechanics working on my :spyder2:. This covers 130,000 miles of operation. I know fronts are easy, but the rear tire replacement scares me.

My track record, 15K to 20K on each set of front tires. 15K average on each rear tire. The 2014 rear tire came with a softer compound. I got 8.9K on that one. The replacement OEM now has 11K on it. The fronts are going on 20K. All three to be replaced sometime this riding season.

OEM TIRES

Bought my RT used Memorial Day weekend 2015 with 9900 miles. They replaced the rear tire with the newer Kenda with the harder rubber. The fronts are original. I have put on 9000 miles since purchase. I've checked the rear with a tread depth gauge regularly. Not seeing a lot of wear. I think I've got a chance of 20K or more for the rear tire but only time will tell. The fronts are now at 19K and I'll probably have to change at 25K. In both cases it's better than my Harley was. Don't know if you can get the Kendas other than a dealer but if I can I'll take the wheels off myself and take the to other than a dealer to mount and balance. The rear tire I won't do myself. Will have to find out if the local dealers will mount non OEM. BUT, if the mileage life is what I think it will be I will most likely stay with OEM. I'm really in the beginning stage but as you can tell by the miles I enjoy riding the Spyder. I do check my tire pressure every week or 10 days. Also, I live in FL and the heat will take its toll on tires.

..Even AUTHORIZED KENDA TIRE DEALERS can't get Spyder tires........because of the Deal BRP has with Kenda....The plan was to screw you the consumer from DAY ONE on this...............And I agree the new rear tire sounds a lot better than any previous rendition.......However it's still not a Michelin or Pirelli or even a General which sell for an average of 40 % less .......JMHO......Mike :bbq:

New Kenda tire from Ride Now Sports--$179 installed. You buy the tire from them and they install it for Free. That's not bad at all Mike.

Yikes

Try Yokohama tires they're great

I have had 3 cars with Yokohama tires and none of them lasted 10K miles. If I was buying a car and it had Yokohamas on they would have to change the tires for me to buy the cars. For that reason I wouldn't have them on anything but maybe you've had good luck.
