I installed Toyo Proxes on the rear, but i didn't found any car tire in 165/55 R15 for the front here in Quebec.

The only 165/55 R15 I've been able to find is the Federal 595 EVO. I don't know much about Federal tires except they are made in Taiwan.

Try 175/55-R15. There a many tires in that size. Khumo, Continental, Bridgestone, General, etc. Only 10mm (0,4 in) difference in the width.

Anything but Kenda scrap.

At this point in time; it appears that Federal is the only manufacturer that makes a car tire in the Spyder's OEM front size...

Thanks, The Kumho is definitly what I will put on the back. Front 15" are a little harder to find, looks like Federal or go to a 175/55 R15 as per above. I think it will still fit in the fenders only 10mm wider. Thanks guys ;)

New Kumho for me

Two week ago I ordered the Kumho through my local tire place thinking that I might have to replace it right after Spyderfest now have 6200 miles, Was I ever wrong. Went on a 200 mile ride on Saturday and now I have less than 1/64" in the center with the outsides looking almost new. I keep my rear tire pressure at 27 psi but when I got home I found the tire to be at 32 psi (hot). Water under the bridge and now we will have the KUMHO mounted next week. What tire pressure is everyone keeping on the KUMHO.

been sitting now for a day and you can tell the tire is concave.

I just put a Michelin Primacy 215/60/15 on my 2012. Rear Kenda was toast at 8700. Took a ride on it today and it feels great. Time will tell how it wears, running 28 psi.

All tires gain pressure when hot. That's why the recommended pressures are stated cold. The center wear on the OEM tire is more a product of the thin belt, wide width, and ballooning at freeway speeds. 6,000 miles is real short life even for the OEM tire, however. I think 10K or more was typical...at least with the tires up until 2012.

Big letdown:
Called down to Brewer cycles in Henderson to have the rear replaced with my kumho and a laser alignment. Service said SORRY we don't mount car tires. Did I buy the wrong tire?

Here's my OEM Kenda rear tire after 3000 miles. It's down to the wear bars in the middle. Apparently, spirited riding on Ozark Mountain back roads takes its toll pretty fast.

I've got a Kumho Ecsta AST on order.

This will happen all the time if you take off too fast and spin your rear tire.

Careful..!!

The tread wear guide bar is the one that lines up with the small triangle on the side of the tread. The other bars are design for traction and water displacement. They are level with or close to level with the tread pattern. I have close to 18,000 miles but am close to the limit. Here is the point to check at.....

http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Bridgestone/Potenza-RE030.htm/price/165-55-15---yes, they are in the UK. However, the size is right and they just might make it across the water. Hope we have some more choices soon.

Side note---BRP approved replacement of my tires today (out-of-round issue) and dealer called to say they are on order.:yes::yes::yes::yes:
Hope they check the new ones for roundness.:yikes: I just might get to feel how this rocket sled on rails feels when properly shod.:ohyea::ohyea:
