There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tires

Questions

New member
Hello all,
I am a newbie and I have read several threads about handling for the RTS. I am having the 600 mile service done now and I am having the dealer dealer stiffen the front suspension. I will try running with 18/25 psi in the tires (front/rear).
It may seem a little early to be talking asking tires but I like to do my research first.
Which tires would you all recommend for the best handle and performance?

:welcome:

While there is nothing wrong with researching something in advance, I would also wait until the tires need to be replaced before doing anything.

There are many of us that are running a car tire on at least the rear of our RS Spyders, while others run them on all 3 wheels. I am not sure how many, if any yet, RT ryders are running car tires but am sure they will chime in if they are.

Ryding the Spyder is a different experience and many on here will tell you that it took them a few hundred miles before they became used to it enough to learn to relax their grip and let the Spyder do the work. It takes very little input to make it go where you want it to, and if you are over driving it will not be the best ryding experience.

Thanks for the input. Yes I am going to wait until I actually need to replace the tires. I just wanted know other riders thoughts

Hey Sensei,
I changed out to the Kumho at roughly 14,000 miles. I had changed my 2010 RT shocks to the 2011 RT shocks before I changed to the passenger tire. I found that the tire change made more difference with highway buffeting (behind semis) than the shocks did and the wife felt the ride was better for her as well as the passenger. Whether the Kumho is the tire I will choose next is yet to be seen, but I will say that going to the passenger tire was deffinately worth it and the improvement was dramatic in my opinion. There are some that are trying Michelins or other brands, by the time you are ready there should be some good feedback about the different selections available.
Have a blast and ryde safe!:2thumbs:
