There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tires...the never ending story.

I had my Spyder inspected yesterday for the annual state "ripoff" and the VeeRubber Arachnid rear tire installed by my dealer. In the conversation he said that he had been approached by the rep for VeeRubber to carry their tires which he had not yet done. He does carry the Kenda brand and as we all know, the reports have mixed results as to mileage. He said he didn't have enough reports on the VeeRubber yet to give his opinion but asked me to let him know how this went. Since I got almost 13K out of my Kenda, he said it might be the best he had heard of so far. I was running 29lbs in it and that was too much in his opinion. He said to go about 28lbs in the VeeRubber and see how it wore with that.

He did make a comment on automobile tires that I thought interesting. He said that since the auto tires were rated for so much higher weight that would be put on them by a Spyder, they may not grip as well and for that reason he would stick with a tire designed for a motorcycle rather than a car. He also said that for the front tires, the Kendas had been more than adequate and he'd had no complaints about them. With 13K on mine there's hardly any wear I can see at this point.

Since I've only ridden about 5 miles on the new tire I've no opinion other than I can detect no different other than the rear feels more stable around a curve. As to smoothness and ride it feels the same at this point.

Ann has reported that the Arachnids should last about as long as the Kendas do.
And I agree with your front tire assessment; the Kendas seem to do just fine...
I've tried automotive tires twice, and am currently running a Kumho; I've NEVER had problems with a lack of traction. :dontknow:

spyderann suggested 30 psi on the vee rubber..They wear different than stock tire on rear..I have over 2 K on my Vee Rubber Now and still looks good.. winter is fast approaching :yikes:

I have over 43k on my front tires. they still have lots of thread left..... bridgestones running 18psi and 1 size larger than the stock

Found a match?

:clap:A have a 2013 RT. I am needing tires. After looking around and reading the threads, I think a have a match. 215/60/15 rear, 165/65/15 front. The rotations are very close, Speedometer correction better, and the ground clearance is increased by 0.64 inches. Any thoughts?

Waiting....

Arachnid (Vee Rubber) came out with the spyder tire but later it was found to be lacking in one spec. The new ones should be as good if not better than Kenda but not much info yet. I don't do car tires for several reasons your dealers assesment being one of them. I got 22 ,000 on the rear and 30,000 on the fronts, due to an alignment issue, from the Kendas and they performed very well in all conditions. If you do run car tires try to keep them all in the same family/specs...

You are on the right track. That rear size works fine.
