Tires ... Re-visited

OK folks. Now that my wife and I have used Spyders through the Winter on Spyders, one thing is clear for us.

Buying the factory tires is not probably going to happen. We find the factory tires to be pretty good actually, except in rainy conditions. The tire breaks lose before the VSS even has a chance to kick in when going up hill in the rain and in corners often enough to feel this way. We are certainly not saying the tires are bad, quite frankly I think they are pretty darn good for factory tires. What I am saying is I want to improve on what I have now.

We figure many of you have tried different tires now and there is probably more info available now

So we are looking for a new set that works great in the water, keeps the nice ryde and cornering stiffness, and of course fits the Spyder. What have you used and like the most?

Thank you all in advance! :ohyea::doorag::2thumbs:

waiting for Gargole (forget his new forum name) results with the tires he got from tire rack. he put on high performance summer tires I think.

someone else posted they put on their wifes rt an all season tire that was much better then stock. the problem is if you want 100% same size front tires I not sure anyone but the OEM tire comes in that size. but there are a bunch very very very close in size...

Thanks for the reply  I am open to the size. I do plan to keep the stock fenders on as the Rain around here seems to be 5 months out of the year. I like staying dry as much as possible when ryding :roflblack:

I think you have to do something very minor space out the support I think on the fender to make it fit the aftermarket tires that are close in size to the OEM tires. they are slightly wider I think ... there is a big thread on the tire thing here (just search).
