• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tires in the wet @ interstate speeds

BLUEKNIGHT911

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
Last year I had to replace all my tires. .... got Vredestein Q-5 for the front and a tire I had read about ( good ratings ) ... that was a Riken Raptor HR in 215/60-15...... over the past year I have driven in the rain quite a few times and was pleased with how the Spyder handled on wet roads. Well the other day I was on I-89 ( an interstate ) when it started to rain. I pulled to the side and put Rain Gear on, luckily I got it all on, because the Sky's opened up ... it was a real gully-washer :yikes:..... I waited for a small break in traffic, and merged as fast as possible ..... That's when I looked at my speedo and discovered I was going 74 MPH , I eased off the throttle and dropped down to 60 mph and drove safely home. ..... This event never tripped the " VSS ", which I find surprising, because there was standing water all over the road. Maybe an 1/8 to 3/16 deep, which is more than enough to cause the Spyder to Hydro-plane .... So that was my experience with those brands of tires ..... Mike  .....

Thanks Mike…….people can have all the theories they like, but you can’t beat real world experiences from commonsense riders

Yep.... I do not recommend cruise control in marginal road conditions ..... I posted this because recently there was a Thread dealing with " Cruise Control ". I and others said Don't use it..... Mike

I know OEM tires get a quite bit of negative reviews but having had several spyders now and with OEM tires, been through some heavy storms and no issues.
