• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Go to spyderlovers.com and link to the Arachnid tire rep. I recently bought all 3 tires from them. They mailed them to me for $20 (rear), $10 each for the fronts.

Ooooo...!!

no end to the tires available. At this point do not tell them (or anyone) what it is for. Khomo is the only one that does this at discount tires but their online dosen't care. If you search the subject you can read about tires for days on end...:lecturef_smilie:

Discount Tire Direct does care, I had a text from them and a phone call to find out about my order. Tell them it is for a spare tire for a Chevy Cobalt and they will let the order go through.

The Arachnid is a soft tire similar to the Kenda, if you are looking for a high mileage tire this may not be for you.

:welcome: , and welcome to the wacky World of buying car tires for your Spyder! :roflblack: :2thumbs:
Tell them that it's for a Chevy Cobalt, and you'll be fine!

Keep checking with other shops, some actually know what they are doing. It was the second Discount Tire shop I checked with that sold me the tires and actually mounted them after I had taken the wheels off.

Good luck.

Just order another tire. 215/6015's fit fine and work very well. Altimax RT-43 would be my choice. Would they ask you what the Altimax's are for? Just tried it for 1 tire right up to payment time and nothing about what I'm putting it on. Is this just for Kumhos?

You can buy the Kumho Ecsta AST 225/50 R15 on eBay for $81 to $ 84 on any given day with no questions and it will be direct shipped from discount tire direct.com without any questions.
I just got my latest one recently and a friend got one last week.... True if you go direct to them you have to play the "identify a car game"

Don't tell them the tire is for your spyder. There are many discussions here about tires already. Ebay can be your friend here.

The stock Kendra on the RTS is a "directional" "symmetrical" design. I see that the Gen-AltiMax listed is not. Does it matter? What difference has anyone who has tried a non-symmetrical tire noticed if any?

This may have been discussed SOMEWHERE else on this site but there is now so much tire talk....perhaps tires (and OIL) should have their OWN forum!!??

1998 VW Golf......

will get you a Kumho 225/50r15 from Discount Tire. Just got mine installed today. Makes a huge difference in the feel and handling. Wished I had done this when I first got the Spyder, at least now I really appreciate the better ride and handling.

Doesn't matter on my RT, I'm running a 215/60/15 Michelin Primacy with non symmetrical tread for 14,000 miles. NO PROBLEMS!
