The Quatrac ( and Q-5 ) comes in 205/60 -15 & 205/65-15 sizes either one will fit any Spyder REAR , lots of folkls really like them ..... these sizes will bring thje Speedo/odo very close to 100% accurate .... Lots of folks here have reported the Kumho's begin to lose TRACTION at about 12 to 15,000 mi. ...Good luck ... Mike

The Q5 in 205/65R-15 makes the speedometer almost spot on on my 2019 RTL. The Quatrac will be my next replacement.

Just put the Quatrac on My F3 all the way around. 205/60/15 in the back 165/60/15 in the front. All went on for me with no issues other than finding a place that would mount and balance them on the wheel for me.

It looks like if I got the numbers right the 205 60r 15 are 2 inch smaller width wise is this right???from the 225 50 r15 stock tire. Thanks

Nope! Bearing in mind that the sizes printed on the sidewall are only nominal sizes, and may have only a vague relationship to the tire's actual size, but 25 mm is about 1 inch, so the nominal width of the 205 is LESS THAN 1 inch NARROWER in tread width than the OE 225 tire; and the difference in sidewall height between the 50 profile on the 225 and the 60 profile 205 is the difference between 50% of 225 & 60% of 205, which works out to being the difference between 112.5 mm & 123 mm.... :lecturef_smilie: . Which means the 205/60R15 might be about 20mm narrower & maybe 10.5 mm taller in rolling dia than the OE Spec 225/50R15 - which is pretty much basically just 2/5ths of 5/8ths of SFA difference on both counts, but biased ever so slightly towards being maybe a little narrower (good for wet road ryding & even tire wear, IF you're only running about 18 psi in the stronger constructed 205 car tire ;) ) and about 1/4 of an inch taller in rolling diameter... MAYBE! (That is good for making the speedo & odo/trip meter a little more accurate instead of leaving them at the internationally mandated 'reading up to 10% faster/further than the Spyders actual true speed/distance travelled'. )

However, even tho the size printed on the sidewall is only a nominal size that may differ from the tire's real size depending upon the manufacturer &/or tire brand/type, since we know that most non Kenda 205/60R15's DO make most Spyder speedo's & odo's/trip meters juuust a little more accurate, and that the Vredesteins are closer to that nominal size than most other brands of tires (including the 'generally small for the size' OE Spec Kendas - so when the Kendas are fitted, your speedo reading can lead you to think you're going faster than you really are & the odo/trip meter might tell you that you've travelled marginally further than you really have.... both of which can lead you to think that you're getting better fuel economy than those others running car tires, only you may not be getting quite as good mpg as you think!! :banghead: ) which means that it's likely you can safely assume that once you've fitted the Vredestein 206/60R15 you'll get something like that improvement in speedo & odo/trip meter accuracy that most others who've done the same have already found (even if they didn't necessarily notice the change/increased accuracy in speed & distance travelled! ;) )

Enjoy the Vredesteins - if you're like most who run them at an appropriate pressure for the light (well, lighter than the average car :p ) load that your Spyder places on them (ie, about 16-18 psi in the rear, & 18 or so up front in the smaller/narrower tires) then you'll appreciate the all round improvement they can give you in things like traction, ride, handling, tire wear/longevity, puncture resistance, etc etc over that provided when running the OE Spec Kendas (&/or any of their clones!)

My question is if you buy the tires from tire rack, where do you have the tire installed?? Thx

There are several threads on this subject but the short story is that most auto tire installers can mount the fronts and rears and most can balance the fronts if their balancer arbor fits the centerhole on the Spyder's wheel. The rear probably doesn't need to be balanced but you can balance it yourself with a pair of jack stands to support the axle with the wheel/tire mounted - or you can use beads.

Taking the fronts off to take to the auto tire dealer for install is easy but the rear tire is a bear to change and not something I would recommend unless you have some technical savvy, all the tools and are in good physical (strong) shape.

Can Am dealers can do the rear tire change no problem and some will install any tire you take to them but many will only install the Kenda tire specified for the Spyder.

Thanks Pete I knew you would jump on this thanks. I was going off the specs that tirerack had posted it said the tread width was.6.2 then I measured the stock tire on mine. Has any body actual measured the width of the Quatrac tread.on a 205 60r 15. Thanks

They will/can provide you with installers in your area.

Not all can do it though for the Spyder wheels front and back. Make sure to check with the person you are going to use that they can do it before you remove your wheels.

Especially if it is a motorcycle shop the 2 I visited on the Day I changed my rear were slammed with spring business.

I went to a Mr. tire and goodyear first who couldn't mount or balance the back even though I had everything removed from the rim, tire pros were too busy as well as the Yamaha and HD shop. The guy in the HD shop took pity on me and told me that I could go to a local place called South Side Auto and they could do it. Sure enough this local store can handle most anything and they are good at it. I took the fronts back to them when I changed them out last friday.
