TIRE SUPPLIER?

O.K., I know that car tires would be a good replacement for the front tires & that riders have their own brand preference. But where do you get them?? My local tire guy said that he couldn't find anything in the brands he carried in my size (165/65R14). Tire Rack only lists two brands in this size (Dunlop and Bridgestone). :banghead: Where else can I order tires?

Gary

Google the tire size and you should come up with an option or two. I got mine from Discount Tire Direct and my Federal's from Tires Easy

I'm using 185/65/14 Alimax HPs on my 2012 RT. They fit with no mods. A 175 would also fit. This should give you some options. Tire rack has options in 165,175 and 185/65/14.

Newby here, I have the 2011 RSS SE5, looks like its about time to get a new rear tire. I've bought tires from Tire Rack before and had Big O put them on my car. Can a tire store take off and replace your rear tire or is this something that only a dealer can do? I'm thinking that they will only change a tire that you buy from them? What works?

If I follow you correctly, you will have to have a Spyder dealer take your rear tire off of your Spyder, unless you do it yourself. You can then take the tire to a tire shop and have a new tire put on the rim. Whether a tire shop will replace a tire which was not purchased from them is their call, but I have done it with no problem. I hope that helps.

Gary: I bought my Bridgestone Potenzas for the front (165/65 R14) at the local Tires Plus store. They offered to take off the wheels and put them back on again but I didn't trust them to raise the front end so I took them off myself and just took the wheels to them to mount and dismount and balance. Here is a copy of the invoice.

As it turned out I could have trusted them to do the whole thing but everything turned out good.

I installed the 175/65R14 Hankook Optimo on two 2012 RTLs and are working out great. They fit the fenders with no modifying. Also installed the Michelin Hydroedge 215s on rear.
