• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tire questions

We didn't buy Peggy's 2013 Spyder new, so we haven't a huge amount of money invested, and every penny I save is a penny
I can use to buy gas. :)

Oops, my bad, the rear is a 205/65/15; but what's a increasee of 5 amongst friends!!!

Thanks for clearing that up ...... and 5mm in the sidewall height can be significant ..... what will cause size issues is the Swingarm it is very tight even for the " 65 " aspect ..... Mike

In the grand scheme of things, a pair of tires is a pidley amount of money when you consider your investment of the Spyder. Buy a set, ride on em for 1000 miles and if you don't like em, get something different. I can only comment on the Vredesteins, and I definitely prefer them to the OEM's.

:agree: and the vredesteins are not only impressive against the Crapenda's they are superior to anything else ( tire wise ) that will fit. It would be great if the Michelin Pilot sport S4 came in a size we could use , but it doesn't ..... Mike

I agree, ... up to a point. Back when we were much younger, we had to scrimp and save every penny just to be able to afford the necessities. Now that we are a bit more ... "experienced", we don't have to scrimp so much. And I discovered a long time ago that for some things, it's just better to go for the quality and buy once, cry once.

I mostly agree, which is why I chose the Federals. They get excellent reviews and are decently priced. If Peggy raced, or did track days,
or even rode in the rain, the Vredesteins might be a better choice, but the choice seems pretty obvious when the Vredesteins are nearly
twice as much. It's unlikely that she'll notice nearly twice the ride difference.

I consider myself "frugal", "frugal is about prioritizing your spending so that you can have more of the things you really care about."

Or in other words; you go for bang for the buck. So do I, having grown up in the Great Depression/WWII years.
