There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tire Question

I recently purchased a used 2011 RT-S [my first], with 1100 miles on it..
Was reading the book and in the maintenance section it says that the air
pressure in the front tires should normally be 15 psi. I checked the pressure
in my front tires and the pressure is 26 psi, should I bring them down to 15 psi ?

Thanks

Most are running 18-20 psi in the front, and 28-30 psi in the back. Will help with even tire wear, and handling. The wife has the the same, 2011 RT-S.

First off, :welcome: and :congrats: on your Spyder. I have a RS, not a RT, but I keep my front tires at 15.5 pounds. I am sure someone with a RT will jump in, but I would say that the book should be right.

:congrats: & :welcome: I have a 2010 RTS SE5. When I picked up my spyder the dealer's tech said that they have found by testing various tire pressure combinationsthat having 25psi in the front tires and 30psi in rear tires works best. IMHO i like riding with tire pressure combination as the trike feels more planted to the road. I tried the OEM tire pressure settings and found the trike to feel mushy and not planted to the road. Tire pressure settings is a personal preference.

on my RT I run 30 psi and 30 in the rear. I have over 26K on RT and still have a lot of tire wear on the front I rotate my fronts every 6k. I'm on my second rear tire. if you get around 12k miles our more on a rear tire your doing good. On my wifes RS she wants 20 in the front and 25 in the rear.

2010 RT here... :welcome:
I run 18psi up front and have been running 30psi out back. When I get my new rear tire in place I'm going to give it a try with 26psi...

I prefer a bit more, but you should experiment to find what suits you best. With less air, the Spyder is a bit more sensitive in the steering, and rides a bit softer. It also wallows in the corners to some extent. More air brings a little less squirmy steering, a slightly harder ride, and firmer handling in the corners. 26 pounds up front is too much, IMO, but 15-20 would be normal. Be careful about a couple of things. First, check tire pressure cold. I know this is basic, but many people don't realize that specified tire pressures are with the tires at the air temperature...after setting for at least several hours in the shade. Second, don't run less than 15 psi. That is the minimum tire pressure listed on the tire sidewalls. Manufacturers seldom state minimum pressures, unless there is a safety concern. BTW, I run 17-18 up front and 26-28 in the rear of my RT. For Nancy's RS 20/30 seems to work well.

When I picked up the new 2012 RT Ltd in early Dec and started home, I immediately noticed the steering pulling to the left unless I held it tight.

17 miles from the dealer, I turned around and went back to have them check it. Turned out they had only 15 lbs in the front tires. After I raised that to 20, I never felt it pull again. I also ran 20+ in my 2010 RT.

2010 RT-S
Riding style moderately aggressive.
80% single, 20% 2 up
Tires: OEM all of them.

Tires:
20 lbs Fronts
28-30 lbs Rear

15,000 miles + on first rear tire
10,000 miles + on second rear tire with little signs of wear.

21,000 miles + on first set of front tires.
3,000 miles on second set of front tires *
1,000 miles + on third set of front tires (no wear)

Dealer replaced second set of front tires (no charge). Basically because of improper allignment when second set installed.

18,500 miles on rear until replacement.... 31 psi

22,000+ on front, org OEM, 22 PSI and still running strong.

Ride-on

Quick question. I have seen nothing about what to do when you switch directions during the dismounting of the front tires and are using Ride-on. Do you have to wipe it out and go with another 13 oz or do you just leave it alone? Or, give it a couple oz and press on?

:banghead:Thanks

Lamount has pictures of a dismounted tire with ride on in the tire.
You'll have to do a search.
