Tire Pressure?

I just bought a new rear tire. I have replaced the stock one with a BFGoodrich g-Force Sport. For those of you that have replaced the rear tire with a "car/sport" tire, what range of psi are you using? Even with the stock tire below minimum recommended psi, I wore out the center. Sides look brand new. Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

same problem here. I think the center is expanding at speed since there is not enough weight on the tire like there would be with a car.

Strange problem you are having.

I go 18 in the fronts and 28 in the rear...many here go 20 and 30 but it makes for too bumpy of a ride and I feel a reduction in overall dry pavement traction.

I was running the same BF Goodrich tire for a short time on Spyder #1 before its demise. I will use the same tire on Spyder #2 when the time comes. On my OEM tires I run 25 front and 30 rear. On the automotive tire I started out with same rear pressure (30), but intended to move to 35. With Spyder #2 I will start at 35 and keep an open mind.

Debbie has some good posts on this subject. She runs an automotive tire. I think she has gone as high as 45?? I don't remember where she ended up. Maybe she will post here. Lamont also runs an automotive tire.

Both dltang and myself are running 45 psi in the Kumho tires we have on the rear. IMO, the pressure required is based on the tire you have on the bike, not what the owner's manual recommends for their stock tire. The Kumho tire is rated on the sidewall for up to 51 psi.
