Time to take out the sleds!

Wow! We got our first real snowstorm of the season, SO! It was time for me and my son to get the snow toys out of the trailer and play around the yard. I have to say though, I don't have enough yard to use all that horsepower that the 1200 four stroke puts out. Even my son's 600 TNT E-Tec could use more space to really move out. We plan on taking a trail ride tomorrow on our local trails which are being groomed since the snowfall. We should be able to let loose and open up a little more on those trails! FUN..FUN..FUN!!!!!

That sir would be correct! I have three sleds that I register and get V.A.S.T. TMA's for; my 1200 TNT, my son's 600 TNT and my daughters 550 Freetyle Park Skidoo. V.A.S.T. has the early bird program, which gives you a cheaper rate if you get your V.A.S.T. TMA before the 15th of December. I always take advantage of the program. With three sleds it does save me some cash. With the early bird TMA, state registration and club dues my cost for all three sleds is $313 for the season. Without the early bird TMA my cost would be $420 for all three sleds. I feel this is still a bargain. I get to ride the V.A.S.T. trail system and enjoy going to different locations throughout the state.

I got to get out there one of these years. I don't know how much long distance riding I will be able to do this year. I have sciatica in my lower back and have been getting leg and hip pains. I've been going to the doctors for it and doing some therapy. I'm scheduled for an MRI next week and hope that will help find out what is going on with me. I still hope to do some snowmobiling. I just don't know if I can handle the long rides at this time. Aging bodies suck at times!

That Boa Ski is in great condition. You sure don't see too many of those around anymore. I'm good friends of a guy whose father used to be a dealer selling Boa Ski snowmobiles, and Bolens as well.

Ron, It sure looks like a better start to the snowmobiling season than it was last year. I took my daughters Freestyle Park out yesterday for a ride while she was at work. I was able to leave from my house to hook the VAST trail. There is a dirt road just outside my developement that I take for two miles to get to the VAST trail. As long as the road is snow covered I can do this without trailering. I'm glad that my sleds are legal. I was stopped for an inspection by the Sheriff Patrol at a trail side junction at this store where I went to get fuel for the sled. All was good! They check to make sure you have a legal registration, VAST TMA and also check to make sure your head and tail lights are in proper working condition.
Have a fun time in Tug Hill. How far is that from where you live? Get some pics if you can.

Reading this thread "flashed" me back to " '66 or '67. I had a 292 Ski-Doo with, I think, a JLO engine. Could my memory still be correct?

Back in '66; they MIGHT have had something other than Rotax-Power under the cowling...
My Brother in Law has a 1965 with a JLO...
