Time to ride.

Started out around noon

Straight up I 75 to West Branch

Went through West Branch and rode up old 55

A little bit of snow in the woods.

Took a side trip to Lake St. Helens alot of deer running around up there.

Headed over to Houghton Lake

Then back down old27 through Harrison to Clare

What a great day of riding.

Bikes got real dirty

Was this weather wild for Michigan in March, or what! Yesterday was pretty great, with highs reaching the 60s (normal is mid-40s) so we rode to Grand Rapids to celebrate Nancy's grandfather's 100th birthday. Today we rode to Holland to look at a model home...but that was just an excuse. Barely over 40 when we left home, and the textile gear and fleece felt good. By the trip home in the afternoon it was 80, and we were dying, despite having shed both the fleece and our long-sleeved shirts, and opening the jacket and pants vents. Gonna have to rethink the clothing options for the wide temp variations in Colorado this June. Anyway, we got in around 350 miles these last two days, and there isn't an end in sight for this record warmth. I guess we had better enjoy it while we can.

Crazy weather for sure! Scotty with your trailer you can take clothes for all kinds of weather with you. We usually take at least 2 coats each on big trips. I hope you continue to have good weather especially for your trips to Spyderfest.

:roflblack: You haven't seen how much other crap Nancy can pack into that trailer! We were thinking of just wearing the textiles...hoping for no serious heat crossing the plains or at lower elevations, but that seems unlikely right now. I doubt the mesh will satisfy us up in the higher mountains. Hate to take both, but it may become necessary. The camper works well for that, because you can store the coats flat in the cover, but the RT-622 cavern is quickly filled by clothes, suitcases, and the cooler. Maybe I can convince Nancy that we are backpacking, and need to travel ultra-light. :roflblack:

Last time we went to Colorado it was in July, 105* in Denver headed into the mountains temps went way down quick with a storm coming in


Rode through the Eisenhower tunnel and full force into 36 degrees and a rain/snow/sleet storm.

Awesome pictures! We just bought a place in Houghton Lake and we were probably there when you went through. We didn't have our bikes with us though. Most all the snow is gone up there too. It looked like most of it was places that the sun doesn't get to to well.
