• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The time has come for me to replace my rather elderly carbon BMW (Schuberth)
modular (flip-up) helmet. It's given good service and I shall keep it as a back up.
But the helmet I have chosen to replace it is the Lazer Monaco Pure Carbon.
I've examined one and it oozes quality. The Belgian company who make it
have been making sports helmets since 1919 so there's no shortage of experience!

As I'm an old fart now (!) weight is quite important and this helmet scored very well in the impact testing
carried out by SHARP in the UK and is the lightest, quality modular helmet in current production.

Anyway folks....I jus' thought y'all would like to know! I think Bob Denman should go for one as his new found fame
as a Playboy pin-up will now allow him to afford one!! LOLz.

Damn nice helmet! Seriously and I like a modular here is Sothern Cali so I can lift it open to get air in traffic.
However I cant handle black in the sunshine we have here. Just gets too hot in stop and go traffic.
Do they make other colors?

Fine looking helmet...will wait for your evaluation...let us know about the wind noise coolness weight and aerodynamics...we're not asking much maybe a 300 mile ryde..!! :roflblack:
 
The story so far....

Well I've had the Lazer for a while and done all kinds of riding with it;
from in town traffic on the Spyder to some very, very naughty speeds on my BMW R1150R.
It does work very well to the extent that you tend to forget it's there. One of the better features
when riding in traffic is that you can raise the front section of the helmet with one hand.
It was a little tight at first but now its bedded in its a good firm fit without any tight spots.
It has the best ventilation of any helmet that I've worn. A very good through flow system
that keeps your head cool.
The wind noise is only moderate but that depends so much on what screen, if any, you use when riding
and like turbulence this will vary from bike to bike and from rider to rider. It is not as quiet as my
Schuberth full-face but that is one of the quietest helmets made by any manufacturer.
I also wear good ear plugs on every trip as I have already lost 60% of my high frequency (above 2 Khz) hearing
which is down to high speed riding in the past with no ear protection.
One of the nicest and coolest things about it is the photochromic visor (faceshield) which
successfully gets quite dark in around thirty seconds when exposed to the rays of the sun and
saves me having to wear shades when I'm riding. I am, however, a spectacle wearer and always
have them on when riding so it was good news for me that my eyeglasses feel comfortable when
the helmet is on as I've found that not all helmet design is spectacle-friendly.
I like this helmet....not as expensive as a Schuberth or even a top of the range Bell but it does
what I need it to do and it is very, very light at 1350 grams (47.62ounces). You can also remove the helmet
with one hand, when you have the knack and with extended use.
Nitpicking, I could say that there isn't too much room between my chin and the lower part of the helmet
but it doesn't cause any discomfort .
