Ticking sound at low speed

Sound appears to be coming from the drivers right front wheel. It is noticeable up to about 10 mph. It may still be there at higher speeds and if so it drowned out but rode noise.

The frequency of the tick increases with speed.

This is a brand new rt with less than 200 miles on it.
I have checked for stones in thread none found
I have pulled and pushed on the wheel front to rean and left right. Nothing noticeable there.

Any thoughts?

It's just your brakes. Calipers I think. The sound is normal.

Mine does this too but is very subtle. I quits when brakes are applied. This is normal. If it still does it with brakes then it may be the cotter pin hitting the wheel weights.

Check to see if the cotter key is hitting the wheel weights.

Very interesting. After about 200 miles or so on my 2012 rt I to experienced the same thing. As you, the first thought was either a rock or--:gaah:OH crap a nail. (Nope)
The dealer said the right tire was a gram out of balance(?). The problem persisted and then transformed so to speak. I get vibration when that 'comes and goes' in speeds from 40 through the 70s MPH. The dealer sez that is due to road conditions. The thing is, I get this trouble no matter what type of road I ride. I have been bringing this problem to the service guy at Seminole Power Sports in Fla. He sez neither of his two Spyder mechanics can't find a problem. :banghead: And perhaps I should take it to a different service center. There is another Spyder dealer, Central Power sports, in Kissimmee (A ride down the road) that appears to be more familiar with Spyders.
A lot of Spyder runs appear to start from there, and they seem to be more 'Spyder friendly.' and maybe mechanics that are better familiar with the machines. So that is the next step for me for this annoying condition.
Hope you are able to resolve your trouble. If your problem drifts into something like mine perhaps there may be a recall issue with the 2012 RT's

If an cotter pin isn't rubbing,
Then it's just the pads going past the holes [vents] in the disks, It's Normal.

Lots of stuff to look at here thanks for the , as usual, terrific information and suggestions. I'll did in if/when my wife notices or at 600 mi. Which ever comes first..
