• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

throttle Stuck

While in Deadwood for the 3 Wheel Rally I traded my 2015 ST Limited for a 2015 RT Limited in Spearfish. On the way to Cody where i am now on my way home to New Mexico through Yellowstone and the Tetons, my throttle is sticking. 0 to 3/4 throttle works ok but stiff. 3/4 to full it sticks what can I do besides go to a dealer which will screw up my trip. Thanks

Since you've a brand new machine that will be covered under warranty your biggest challenge will be finding a dealer who will service it without giving you the run around or bum's rush since you didn't buy it there. That may be no problem, don't know. Since the throttle mechanism is fly by wire it is probably something in the mechanical set up of the right grip. I personally wouldn't consider digging into my brand new Spyder and risk getting crap from a dealer may have to rely upon. Yes, it may slow you down but look at as just another nick in the slide down the razor blade of life. JMO.

Try this..!!

most models have bar ends. Caps that screw into the end of the bars. If you loosen or remove it you can spray some WD40 where the tube spins on the bar. Flip it a few times and see if it helps. Sometimes it is rubbing on the bar end or up against the control housing...

I will try that in the morning Thanks

are you using Eco mode? Eco mode limits throttle some. Also being a new rt it's recommend not to use full throttle for 1st xxx miles

I would also check the plastic handle bar covers possible rubbing the throttle or something inside that area of the throttle.

:agree: Check for something that's sticking as the grip is rotated.
Since there's no throttle cable (only wiring that transmits the inputs...), it's got to be something external.

Jay " FLY BY WIRE " is a mis-nomer......the wire is electrical ( 14 & up ) and is sending a signal not physically moving by a cable......and Yes see a Dealer ............Mike

...and by the way a 2013 RT is fly by wire too as I believe earlier ones were also. Not just 14 and up.

Throttle stuck

For those interested I purchased a
15 rt limited on Labor Day. Noticed throttle
would stick at 3/4 open. Took it to the dealer
and was told They need to grind down the
casting on the control and install a bushing.
Evidently it's a problem as the dealer had 3
more limiteds on the floor and 2 were doing the
same as mine. Hope this helps

Wish I would have thought of it on my
first post. But the part they had to get for
my throttle is called bushing end piece kit
part # 219800381
