There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Throttle Meister and Heated Grips

Rockytime

This summer I purchased the Throttle Meister for my 2010 RT-S. I had neglected to consider the heated grips which prevented me from using the Meister. I covered the grips with foam covers to boost the grip diameter. I realize that with winter riding the heat does not transfer well through the foam grips and insulated gauntlets. In the summer I don't need the heat and in the winter it does not help that much so my question is this. Has anyone removed the heating elements? I would like to do so and make the Meister useable.

heated grips

My thoughts would be how quickly can I get the "grip growers" or what ever they are called, off my bike. The heated grips work perfectly, the heat takes for ever to get through the extra grip diameter. I've had a couple Throttle Meisters and they are ok, but for some reason, I thought they would be better to operate. They were a pain to roll on and roll off. To each his own, just IMHO.

looks like I made the same mistake

so it would seem I made the mistake of purchasing a throttlemeister for spyder which isn't going to work on my 2010 RT SE5-S.

:banghead:

I knew I was in trouble when I pulled the end caps off and there was a spring at the end of the bar on throttle side, and the prominent heated grip wires showing at the end of the left side.

I ya'll can confirm this, I will return the throttle lock and research some other appropriate product.

I will make note to the manufacturer/seller that I saw nothing indicating it would only work on certain model spyders.

Doesn't your RT already have cruise control? :dontknow:

yes, but I have an injured wrist and have always had both a throttlemeister, and electronic cruise. I set the friction of the throttle just enough that it holds it's setting, but is easy to turn. I like it that way.

Also ride with a black rubber kury throttle boss on both grips.

I do readily admit the spring on my RT throttle is lighter than both my previous bikes.
