• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle Body

Does anyone know if the 2008 RS spyders have issues with the throttle body I currently have a 2010 RT which I am having problems with. I got the P1614 code today. Anyway a friend is looking at a 08 RS. I am trying to find out if this is an issue with them also, or any other issues they may have.

Thanks

The 2008 Spyder is a "Throttle by cable" bike... pretty bulletproof!
In 2010; the RT came out with a "Throttle by Wire" setup... They had some teething problems with them.
I had two that needed replacing.

2010 and 2011 RT had some TB issues. My 2010 had hot start issues. Would not re-start very easy if engine was hot. A computer re-programming seemed to fix it. Had the computer re-programming done on the 2011 and we have had no issues. None that I know of with the 2008 or 2009 GS/RS models.

Me too

Pyder is in drydock again for the p1120 and p2620 and limp mode associated with tps sensing. I asked the dealer to contact BRP about this and got back something like ..The codes aren't there now, so BRP is reluctant to commit to TB replacement. This sounds like BS but it could also stand on what exactly transpired. Oh, having heat control kit installed while Pyder is dismantled, so that will be accomplished. I'm getting to where I don't trust the machine or dealer, thinking about a second opinion, but that opinion is 120 miles away. I will pick up on Wednesday, will see then how it runs and if any stored codes are still there. So, what is this reprogram of which you speak? Could dealer do that without too much hassle? Mine is a 2011 with about 57K miles. I don't want to go into debt again for a '15 but it sure is tempting lately.

Depends..!

the 2008 and pretty much all the GS, RS, RSS are problem free. The code you got could mean you need an adjustment that requires buds to accomplish. Do know the RT's had some issues for a bit. :banghead:

I had premier edition #727 2008 RS and didn't have that first problem. Traded it in on my F3S with original tires and loads of accessories.
