• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Many, many years ago I bought a Goldwing and discovered a Goldwing Forum. That "caused" me to buy another newer Goldwing and then another newer one. Then I "had" to upgrade and add bling until I was happy. Then I bought a Can Am Commander and had to mess with that too. Well, now it starts all over again with my "new" 2014 RT Ltd. I just don't learn. Just ask my wife. My list of "needs" is growing and I'm trying to consolidate and order a lot of stuff at one time to save a lot of money on shipping charges. I'm sure that will make wife happy.....

This is why our Spyder is the "Fat White Chick" and my Suzuki was the "Redhead." My wife has always called them the other woman that gets more attention than she.

:D And it costs a whole lot less money to trade in an old Spyder for a used one; than it does to trade in a Wife! :yikes:

I gave the RT to my wife and then told her everything I do is for HER. Works every time.

This is all caused by a neglected upbringing. Sorry there is no cure. I suffer from the same malady! :D

This is no different than when we were kids - I had a '68 Cuda with a perfectly good radio, but I just knew if I replaced the speakers and radio it would sound better. I replaced them, and the new system sounded almost as good although the cassette playback speed was slow and the radio reception wasn't as good.

However it impressed the woman who is now my wife, so I guess it DID pay back!

How very true. Sites like SL can cost the readers and users a lot of money.

Since coming on in 2010, I had already purchased two. An 08, and an 09. One for me and one for the spouse. When we parted company in 2010, she took her Spyder with her.

I was heavy on the farkles for the 08 and 09. Had almost $6K extra per machine. I was trying to make them into touring bikes. I succeeded, based on how the 2010 RT came out looking very similar to what I had done on the 08 and 09.

Since then, I have purchased a total of five and over 130,000 assorted miles. I have two in the garage. One is for me and one for Linda, my new friend. She has put 25,000 on hers since 2012.

I have added up all the bucks, and it is really scary. Glad I can look back on my experience as fun riding.:yes:

Unless you plan on spending your eternity in a cash-lined coffin: you might as well enjoy the money while you're still upright...

:agree: You can't take it with you. The trick is having enough left until your time runs out. :roflblack::roflblack:
