There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Thoughts on my RS Problem

I put my Spyder RT back in the shop for the same problem. This week will be it has been another 3 weeks without my bike. This time they have replaced the belt and Cush drive based on BRP's direction. The problem persisted. The dealer again contacted BRP and they came up with a new proposed fix. BRP believes the engine drive pulley is out of alignment and sent the dealer the spec's to fabricate a special tool to adjust the engine to better align the drive pulley on the engine. I was told the tool when fabricated will allow them to rotate the engine slightly and they believe this will prevent the noise. however, according to the dealer BRP also mentioned they are working on a new coating for the front drive pulley that will reduce friction! Thus eliminating the noise. I am waiting to hear if realigning the engine helped to fix the problem. I purchased the bike in April and it has been in the shop more than it has been with me.

Pls excuse my lack of techno speak.

Any thoughts?

:dontknow:
Did they pull the front sprocket [pulley] and check the main shaft for ware??

When I first got my spyder it was driving me nuts with all the weird noises and was constantly at the dealer..i decided to invest in a good pair of ear plugs and now i just have a ball riding the hell out of it and it seems to perform better and better as the miles mount up..I still have my Harley which i rode today and have to admit it was not half the fun as riding the spyder..just my thoughts

My Spyder only has 1022 miles on it. Hopefully wear is not an issue. BRP instructed the dealer to realign the engine to the front drive pulley. They did this by fabricating a steel bar which they ran through the alignment holes in the engine after loosening the engine mounts, re-aligning the engine and drive pulleys. They replaced the Cush drive and belt as well. After 2 each 3 week stints in the dealers shop, the bike was returned yesterday. However, I still have the same problem, but the screeching noise coming fm the left front of the engine is much less loud. The dealer is now telling me that BRP is looking at either redesigning the belt and or pulley with rounded teeth, to some other design.

At least I have my Spyder back and can again ride. I will see what BRP will do in the future. The dealer did a thorough job of trying to correct the problem. I think I need to get the BRP BEST extended warranty after this experience.

My Spyder squealed from day one, 08GS Many belt adjustments were done by my dealer and me, Never got the squeal out.
At 17,500 miles my sprocket and shaft wore out. New sprocket and shaft now, And guess what No more squeal.
Getting the squeal out only cost me 30+ days and 18 hunderd + dollars.
