• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thought I would share...

Hello all,

I hope that today finds you in good spirits. I mentioned on FB that I plan to travel 18,000 miles in 2014(9200 traveled in 2013- I bought the spyder in October 12' so technically my year ended in October this year). When I first bought the spyder I didn't have my motorcycle license yet and I was very uncomfortable traveling in something other than a car/truck. It took me 3 months to get my first few hundred miles with just riding around the neighborhood. I didn't really start racking up miles until this year so getting more than 9200 miles won't be an issue(assuming I am blessed to not have any major breakdowns). Part of my 18,000 should include my dream road trip. I plan to travel to Florida(Orlando, Daytona, and Tampa). Thanks to the spyder codes app I will know were the closest dealers are as I travel. I have been thinking about the trip pretty good. Although it is not the fastest route, I plan to go through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia before heading on to Florida. with it being just me, the spyder trunk along with some cheap saddle bags and maybe a back pack should be enough room for clothes and stuff. I plan to drive from 10am to 6pm each day going and coming back. That way I am driving only in the day time in unfamiliar areas. I have family in Atlanta and Tampa so I should only need hotel rooms when I stop outside of those areas. I'm no road warrior so I'm thinking 400 to 500 miles per day should be good along with food and rest stops. Now I just have to figure when I want to try this trip. With that many states it probably will be impossible to avoid bad weather through the whole trip but it won't be summer for sure. :doorag:

Wow..!!

sounds like a great trip. Hope you come to a good time to make it happen. Should be during the better weather although florida is good ryding all the time. Post your route and dates and you may bump into some of the lovers in those places. When you do the west coast let us know...

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Prepare for everything concerning weather, and you will not be surprised. A lot of the fun for a trip like this is the planning. Barnes and Noble as well as others have state by state travel guides--its always fun to peruse them during the "off" season.

I and many others will look forward to hearing about and seeing your journey through photos and posts.:thumbup:
