There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. By suggestion we are heading down Rt 555 to Little Hocking and the scenic byway, spending the night in Parkersburg then traveling along Muskingum River north to historic Rt 40 and home again.
Anyone have a a suggestion for a good hometown meal in Parkersburg?

Oh yes

Another amazing journey.

Well we made it. It was a challenging and incredibly fulfilling ride this weekend.
SR 555 (aka. The Triple Nickel) is not for the faint of heart. We stopped to fill up at a corner gas station before motoring on to 555 and it was everything they talk about. Speed limits of 55 mph but with so many hair bend turns, blind up hill and down hill corners it was tough to travel even close to the speed limit. The one disappointment we had is there is no where shady to stop and take a break other than pulling off on to the side of the road in some rural areas or cross roads so once we got goin there was no quitting.

Lunch was a picnic near Parkersburg along the Ohio river watching the boats, and tourists.

We spent the night in Marietta which sits on the Ohio river and is split by the Muskingum river. There is so much history in this little town it's hard to pack it all into 1 day but we saw quite a bit. I suggest everyone visit. We got lots of photos and my wife found an old court house of course. Interesting fact Marietta OH is the first most western populated territory in the US and is named in honor of Marie Antoinette, the Queen of France.

Coming home we followed Rt. 60 along the Muskingum river and visited 4 of the historic hand operated steam boat locks still in operation today. Too bad it was a slow day, we chatted with one of the lock operators and he told us that normally it's pretty busy for him. The route splits about half way between Marietta and Zanesville where Route 60 does not continue the river for a short period so we split off and followed Rt. 266 and Rt. 376 right along the river till it meets back up with Rt 60 after lock #7 and Muskingum island.

All in all I would have to say Rt. 60 has been my favorite ride so far. Here's a few photos. We are considering starting a blog now to share all these travels in more detail.
