• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

THIS MAKES ME MAD!!

 I kind of miss the Good Old Days"; when all that Dan and I ever fought about was his disrespect for Law Enforcement Officials... :banghead:

:D *BING!"

It happened when he sold the RS and got an RT...………………….. :joke:

This whole damned thread is just stupid. It has nothing to do with one side or another. It has to do with the fact that you posted a video in Mandarin with no English translation or even subtitles. If you look at it directly on YouTube, even all the comments are in Mandarin. The only "translation" we have is what YOU told us what YOU think it means and YOU didn't even provide a source for your translation -- if indeed it's even an actual translation. Sorry, but the first step in any logical argument is determining WTH we're even arguing about. If you are claiming to speak and read Mandarin, then speak up, identify yourself as the translator and I will salute you. If not, identify where you got the translation so we can see it ourselves. As things stand, everyone here just seems to assume that it means what you say it means and they start arguing from there. How dumb is that? Maybe I should have you sign a contract with my wife, she'll write it in Tagalog and trust me, I'll tell you what it means, trust me -- P.S., I don't speak Tagalog. Sheesh.

You are very right, for my accurate translation i use my wife, father in law, brother in law, sisters in law, niece who did the translation at the hospital and my poor understanding of mandarin. While in bed every night i control the tv & my wife has her laptop watching taiwan & chinese videos with chinese subtitles so i trust her completely on translation and i watch chinese news with her sometimes. My wife graduated college in taiwan then came to the u.s. While in taiwan i practiced my mandarin hitting on spicy girls (google it if you want to know what that is), my wife & her friends were very surprised i knew a lot more then they thought. Understand the reason i know a lot about china & taiwan & have been there is from my wife & her family. I also have vendors in taiwan who are fluent in english but
when we do have a little issue my wife will type it out or talk to them on phone.

P.S. johnsimion, a really really good customer of mine comes to u.s. 3 or 4 times a year from the filipines to visit his kids & stops at my place to buy a bunch of classic wheel covers for his cars, he has over 50 of them there. no i don't speak tagalog but he speaks english.

Thank you! And a salute is due as well. I apologize for questioning you ... you should have said something up front!

For the record, I've verified what you say and although the numbers may be a bit exaggerated, that doesn't make it right. This kind of thing irritates me as well. I would like to see the Constitution amended so that at least one parent has to be a citizen or legal immigrant before citizenship is conferred. And I'd like to see a rule that government benefits can't be sent overseas except those actually earned; e.g. Social Security. But I don't foresee either political party doing that. The GOP would be the most likely, except they seem to be unable to pass simple common sense things because they're too busy tacking on controversial stuff; e.g., we want to build the wall but if you want to support that, you also have to vote to completely change the legal immigration system. There's no connection between ILLEGALS and legals, so why are they lumped together into the same bill? It's like they're asking to fail and honestly I often think that's their intent. Another example is *****care; I totally agree it's terrible and should be repealed and replaced, but honestly, how could they not have another plan ready after all these years? And how could they come up with the votes to pass the tax cut but NOT to repeal *****care? Repealing *****care was what they campaigned on and finally they control everything and they STILL can't do it ... but they CAN pass a tax cut? Come on! If that isn't a deliberate fail, bite me.

About Filipinos, I have been married 32 years and know only a little of the language, only words I can pick up from listening to her speaking to friends and relatives. The minute you start speaking to a Filipino, they immediately answer in English! My wife learned English in school ***and their classes were also taught in English***. That would be the equivalent of me learning Algebra in Russian. And there are NO textbooks from English to Tagalog ... but thousands from Tagalog to English. Oddly, she has Filipina friends here in Vegas who come from other islands within the Philippines and they don't speak the same dialect -- and so the entire group ends up conversing in English!

And even that's no guarantee they all understand each other! When I was in England in 1988/89 a guy in the US Air Force over there told me of a time he was in a pub talking with a group of Londoners, Scots, Aussies, some from Birmingham, and himself, an American. All were speaking English, but they couldn't understand each other! :roflblack:
