There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. This is probably the dumbest question ever asked for 2013 Spyder RT SE

Good afternoon All,
This is probably the dumbest question ever asked

Let me explain, I decided to trade in my 2009 Spyder RS, for a 2013 Spyder RT SE.

The Spyder was purchased at a used car dealership, because of temperature and snow conditions, the trike was delivered this morning on a flatbed,

Once of the flatbed, I tried starting it, using the procedures I am used too, well that didn't work, actually nothing worked, the gauge panel and electronic display are completely blank, nothing, nada, zippo.

I went through the manual, and can't find specific starting procedures, the garage from whom I purchased the trike have no clue, what else.

I have place the battery on a charger, thinking that would be the problem, nothing.

Where can I find " Starting Procedures " for my 2013 Spyder RT SE.

Thanks guys for your assistance.

It could very well be a bad battery, as in dead. That would be the first place to look.

There may also be a reason why the :spyder2: ended up at a used car dealer, but I wont go there at this time. Let's hope you find an easy fix. Fingers crossed.:yes:

Open the front trunk and on the rear wall is the access door for the battery. Check the battery connections. Sounds like a bad connection or dead battery. Some dealers will disconnect the neg battery cable when vehicles are indoors on the showroom.

The display should light up just turning on the key. Then once the ECM boots up it will direct you to push the MODE button and the normal display will come up and its ready to start. Make sure the run switch is in the run position (red switch near your right thumb) and your foot on the brake, then press the start button.

I did all the rest, except for my foot on the brake. Which I will try later.

Once you do get it running, get to a dealer and have them verify whether the past recalls on it were done . . . pretty important ones have occurred . . .

Did you check that the battery was charged? Foot on the brake won't matter if the ECM is not booting up and the display is bwcnot starting.....

Well, the battery is dead as a door knob, I connected my portable power pack to the battery, and everything lite.

But it wouldn't start, then I noticed that the letter R in the left gauge stays on, which I have to assume is for reverse.

I can only guess that if the trike is in Reverse, it won`t start. So the question now is: how do I get it out of reverse.

Start with your foot on the brake and after it starts it will shift to neutral on it's own.

If you look above the instrument cluster there's a pullout card that will walk you through everything you need to know.
